WHS has a great curriculum and alot of really good teachers. It also has its share of teachers who don't care about whether the students actually learn the work, or whether they memorize it to pass a test. Thankfully, those few teachers don't get a chance to teach all children. The Asst Principal is absolutely wonderful with the kids. He is highly accessible, though does not let the kids walk all over them. Both he and the principal are willing to go the extra mile to help a student that is really trying. The school has an impressive record for seniors going on to college. The parental involvement in this school is not as high as it should be in this small community, but there's always next year. The sports program is mostly soccer, the music program tries, but not enough students care...its sad.

As a teacher who worked in a large, urban district before securing a Science teaching position in the Wallington Jr./Sr. High I have a lot of experience & a good data base which qualifies me to contribute a fair , non-biased overview of this district. First, the Admin & school board are well informed, active & overall excellent at what they do. The faculty & staff are hardworking, dedicated individuals, who are constantly striving to upgrade their academic ,as well as their general pedagogical skills. Many stay after school, giving extra help to students, working on fundraising or preparing for future classes. I was amazed at the collegial efforts of the faculty, as well as the admin, with regard to problem solving or just ' brainstorming' to improve the school etc. The students are respoectful, pleasant to work with, and very hardworking. Overall this is an excellent district to work for or to attend one of it's schoolsd.
