I could not ask for a better school. The Child Study Team is excellent, and my daughter's 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Jannush has gone above and beyond! I absolutely love the "feeling" I get when I visit; as everyone is always warm and welcoming. This school's academic offerings well exceed my expectations. The Principal's leadership is so well observed. I have nothing but good things to say about this school.
I couldn't ask for a better school for my children. They have the best child study team and the teachers are just great!
This small town school, delivers big success in every aspect of education. They provide free preschool, full day kindergarten, enrichment programs, basic skills tutoring, caring and experienced teaching staff, state of the art technology education, top notch curriculum. All this is with a limited population of middle class working families. Every district should provide it's children with the quality this district does. Less is proving itself more. Keep up the great work.
This is a great K-3 school with all the caring and attention you would expect from the teachers. They have during school & after school activities that appeal to all different children. Parents need to get more involved in voting.
great school with caring professionals and supportive administrators and board of education.
WES is a great school. My son went here from K-3rd and loved it. All the teachers and staff members are very friendly and helpful. It's great to send your child to a school where everyone knows them by name, whether they have had your child as a student or not.
I feel that this school is more interested in discipline than in authentic education; on managing student behavior rather than in enhancing the experiences of the individual students. If that is what you are after for your child, certainly this is the place for you. It was my experience with the individual teachers, after expressing my desire to be kept up on what is going on in the classrooms, that parent involvement is discouraged rather than encouraged and oftentimes ignored completely. The pressure for achieving optimum standardized test scores is palpable. I feel that both teacher quality and the quality of the curriculum suffers because of this. For some perhaps this is a great atmosphere; for the rest of us it is a stifling environment in which true learning is consistently stamped out and undercut by an administrative desire to ensure continuation of public funding.
I think this is a great school system for the kids. The staff is great and there are extra activities for everyone. There is always a sport being played year round with great equip. and fields including lighted baseball field. The parent involvment is great here, and the P.T.A is second to none. The teachers use up to date methods and programs that really help the kids learn quickly. The entire staff is very friendly, and helpfull.
WES is considered a 'poor' school district. Hold better fundraisers which are more suited to the needs and wants of the families at a lower cost with higher profits for the school. There is an unwillingness for change in this PTA clique. Parent involvement is low due to the uncomfortable vibe from the clique. Disband the clique and more would become involved. Most PTA children events are a joke (dances, movie night, holiday parties, etc.) the willingness is there, the organization and control of the event aren't. Most extracurricular activities (sports) are run by members of the PTA clique, making turnout lower than it should be. Academically the school is great. Caring teachers take an interest in the education of each child - most go above and beyond. We are up to date with new educational offerings such as FastForWord. The office staff could be more congenial and helpful.
