I had one child go through WHRS in all honors and AP classes and one who needed special services and both kids got everything they needed. This is a wonderful high school with the ability to serve all its students and meet all their individual needs and provide a fantastic education.

This school is not so great and take it from me because; i went there and i had miserable time, worst four years of my life. I graduated in 2009. and from what i can tell you, this school is not is what you think it is. Some of the teachers actually teach and care about you, while others walk all over you and just pass you for the heck of it. You don't even learn anything in some classes because; it depends on where your placed. Like if your placed in M or L classes, god bless you because; your not gonna learn anything whatsoever. You'll be just be depressed and sadly you'll be seeing the same people in all your classes which is not good and guarantee you, you will have no social life. Try and get in K or above classes if you actually care about your life and social life after high school. From my experience, its not a big school compared to other high schools. There's two buildings but there very small. You get to all your classes in like a minute. Students are okay, there basically divided among the social groups. A lot of students don't get along due to there popularity and fights do occur. Security is all over the place so your freedom is limited. Otherwise its decent school.

I attended this high school and graduated in 2005. I am now attending The College of New Jersey, which was ranked among the most competitive colleges in the nation. I had an amazing experience at Watchung Hills. The students are kind and friendly, and the staff is motivated and truly cares about the students. The administration is approachable and caring, and the atmosphere is one of a welcoming home, not an uncomfortable institution. I felt well prepared for college and have the confidence to follow all of my dreams. I truly enjoyed my years as a warrior.

This school is excellent as far as academics and athletics are concerned. I know, because I went there, Class of 1998. The school has excellent teachers in all of the major disciplines (english, science, history, foreign language, and art). There are a large number of both JV and varsity sports teams, for both girls and boys. The facilities for field sports are excellent, but to the best of my knowledge the school does not have a pool or ice rink. Swimmers must go off campus to practice at a pool in Stirling, and I believe meets are held in Sonny Werblin Rec. Center at Rutgers New Brunswick.

The school provides a nurturing atmosphere for growth and development in a variety of disciplines. This school allows the motivated student to seek a path to assist them to prepare for the future.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
