My 1st grader and 2nd grader have been very happy at Port Colden. My wife and I have always had great communication with my childrens teachers. The teacher are always prepared and are doing a good job. My children look forward to going to school and I feel that they are doing a good job academically and socially.

Teachers are Great School is very old. bathrooms can get nasty, Lunchroom and serving area on different floors. Also they combined 3rd grade to one school this year and my child's classroom is in the basment.

The class sizes are to big, the homework loads are to much. The teachers in my opinion expect you to teach them everything at home and when they are not learning the subject they point the finger at you as if you are a bad parent and doing something wrong instead of them simply not doing their job. My child's teacher and his teacher the year before never not once asked for a parent teacher conference, never respond to emails or phone messages or notes and then 1 month before school ends they want to tell me how awful they are doing? I don't get it? Communication issues are awful even between teachers at this School. My child is in several 'special' classes to help them with certain areas and their main teacher had no idea what was going on at a recent IEP sit down. Good for kids with no needs.
