Memorial Middle School

Maybe my standards are too high coming from Long Island school system, but the administration in this school is less then helpful they won t hide their desire to send you (parent) on your way. If you are an involved parent, who is employed this school will be very difficult to deal with. They ll flat out ignore you, unless you take a day off to come in then, they ll schedule you for a day that is convenient for them. Forcing you to take more days off. . .

Im not sure about everyone else but this school is a great atmosphere for everyone. It has wonderful and understanding teachers and its seems to be improving everyday. It does however not have many after school activities but the town offers many activities. It is a great place for children to turn into young adults and begin to mature.

Memorial school is a disappointment. There are almost no extracurricular activities, an extremely limited music program and the academic program for accelerated learning is nothing more than a government requirement with no real substance behind the name.

If your child has been raised with strong values at home, this is the school for you. However, if your child was raised with the very same values, but, has any form of learning difference/ dissablilty, do not enroll in this school. Unless the parent is savy, the child will be 'nickle and dimed' at the IEP meetings and the parent will be told the district has no funds to help your child.
