I absolutely love our school. I have always had positive experiences with the teachers, staff, and principal. Two of my three children attend Edison. They are entering 2nd grade and kindergarden this fall, 2011. We have been offered fantastic special services for our son with Asperger Syndrome. By the way, the reason he was diagnosed was because his pre-k teacher strongly suggested we have him evaluated. The support and encouragement of the staff has been wonderful. I feel we have a close knit community and really shows in our school. Edison school has a dedicated PTA as well as parents who continually volunteer their time. With every staff member I meet, whether it is a teacher, a crossing guard, secretaries, janitor or aides, I feel they have nothing but the best interest for the students. I also feel they take pride in their profession and our school. Other perks are an after school program for kids. As well as a local daycare which walk the younger children to and from their facility and school. The only complaint I have, is the lack of organization of some of the sports the Haddon Twp. offers. However, that has nothing to do with Edison Elementary!

Overall Edison is a great school. Like all HT schools it is located within a neighborhood. It is one of those old-fashioned brick schools and has a very warm atmosphere. The school secretary, Ms. Kredatus is very responsive. I would say the Principal Mrs. Smith is so-so. There are a few problematic children in that school and she doesn't do much about them, nor does she address some of the downright horrible teachers. Also, she doesn't seem to make en effort to show up at school functions. For the most part, the rest of the teachers are fantastic and top-notch. HT is a very desirable district to teach in. A big concern is technology or lack of it. I don't see my kids getting the preparation they need to survive in the world of technology. And the "library" is a joke. The parents and PTA are what makes this school wonderful.
