I have found Gretta R.Ostrovosky Middle School to be an excellent school. Great learning environment. Teachers who really care and go the extra mile for our children, willing to help them with their homework and reports. If you need extra help-you have to ask! The teachers are there and wlling and have never said no! I personally am not a fan of the stanardizing test. I do not believe you can judge a school or a student by the these tests. It's unfair, even the brightest students do not always test well. Instead of everyone complaining about the things they don't like, well try and find a solution to them, this way they can be fixed. It's easier to put something down as oppose to holding it up. I too agree that their should be more money allocated for adding onto Doyle or fixing up the new property the town purchased from Assumption. We live in this town and should praise it, stand beside it and only try and make it better! We live in a very small quiant town, our children have been friends since preschool. Lets lift Ostrovosky up, not down!

I have attended said school and have found it below satesfactory in its staff, curriculum, and attitude towards learning. The year I spent away from that school was the greatest I have ever had education wise. This school is behind curriculum at least one year, and puts to much strain on academic tests used to judge teachers. Rules are not enforced, and I recomend another school.

We love our middle school because the teachers are very eager to help in any way. We also have an absolutely wonderful principal.

Wood-Ridge Schools have only been going in one direction in recent years, and that direction is DOWN. The town just passed a bond issue that will allow for a $2.0 million improvement to sporting facilities. That's all well and good, but when you have schools that are just at or below state averages in testing I do not think emphasis should be on sports. What about academics? Schools are overcrowded and outside of Doyle, facilities are not so great... but we only worry about Sports.... if you can... go elsewhere.

This used to be a good school. I have to rely on Kumons so my daughter can get a better education. The parents focus on sports more than on the academics. No wonder we use to ranked at a 7 and now we're at a 5! It's going down the drain.

Ostrovsky is an ok school. It's not great. If you are reasearching schools, just look at the test scores. They are average at best. It's not a bad place. Your child will be safe here and get some sort of an education, but there is better out there. Many parents are sending children to Kumon or Sylvan and they really don't need it. It's just that the school is not doing all it can.

This is absolutely the best school I have ever been to. The principal is really involved with the students and the teacher actually want you to learn instead of just trying to do their job. If your planning to move here, there is absolutely no issue about your child not going to the right schools.
