Both my children love the school. They have learned a tremendous amount. The teachers are great and I highly recommend the school to other parents.

i regret sending my child to this school. The education is way behind than the norm. Kids bully each other and teachers don't seem to care. Also there is a lot of favoritism in this school.

Shameful values and tone at this school. Many students are bullied and ostracized. The vice-principal and teachers turn a blind-eye to this behavior. Many teachers are lazy and apparently are accountable to no one -- least of all parents. Have learned that the school is academically behind in many areas as well. Catholic in form only -- not in substance. .

Many of the core teachers are below par. We were surprised to find that the math program at SJV is below the public school's math program in our town. Also, parents seem to send their kids here for the wrong reasons. Some of the students are very mean. Alot of denial that there is a values probem here.

My daughter went to Preschool here and will be entering Kindergarten in September. She is five and is reading, doing basic math and her vocabulary is excellent. I had a great feeling about the school from the first year and I love being a part of the SJV family.

My son started preschool here, He is happy, calm and academically challenged. My daughter was transferred from public to 5th grade and she was academically behind. My daughter caught up with help from teachers, and assistand principal. She learned to study the correct way and had individualized attention. She is much happier here. It allows for closeness with teachers and a closeness within your own family.

The academic programs could never be matched by a public school. Parents are very committed. They have a wonderful music and art program and their sports teams are available to all!

My son started kindergarten at SJV and will graduate this June. I had a good feeling about St. John's the moment I walked in to register him for kindergarten and that feeling never left. St. John's was a wonderful experience for all of us and a wonderful place for my son to grow up in. The years flew by and it is now time for him to move on, but I am sad to be saying goodbye to St. John's.

My daughter came in kindergarten from a very sad experience at St. Cecelia's and she is now in 3rd grade, happy and doing very well. I have the wonderful administration and teachers to thank. Extracuricular activities are many with wonderful programs provided by our hardworking HSA.

I had my daughter in three schools so far and she is only in fourth grade. I think she will stay in st.Johns. It is a great school with an excellent staff. I have no complaints.

Thank You to St. John Vianney for giving my daughter the best of both worlds. The academic side and religion. I think this helps children have more of a conscience when they make choices.

Profile Completeness

Want to improve this school's profile?

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
