This is a school with an essential mission, and is putting in everything it can to support the community and the students. Kids who find closed doors everywhere else come here and choose to return because here they are welcome and they can finally find what it means to succeed. Each individual is challenged, but at an individual level.
This is a very difficult school to communicate with. I understand everyone's busy, but I made several attempts to discuss grade/attendance issues with the principal and staff regarding my daughter and never received responses (phone, email, or regular mail) which was very disturbing. It actually took me 5 months just to get access to their PowerSchool site to view my daughter's progress and two weeks later the site went down and has yet to be restored. I truly don't understand how this school expects kids to succeed if they're not even willing to communicate with the parents. Seems most schools say the parents don't get involved enough, yet when you try and get involved you don't receive any response from the school unless it involves money (sad).
