Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I currently have one child attending this school. She happy but she seems to be behind compared to other school kids going to different schools. Some of the teachers do not respond to emails or give you updates to help your child

Apache is dedicated to serving each student who who walks through it's doors. The staff is amazing and works so hard to get this incredibly hard job accomplished. I am happy to be part of such a wonderful learning community! I can say that I am THE proudest principal in all of Albuquerque!

I have a first grader at Apache and have been happily surprised by the quality of education and support of the teachers and administration. Coming from a private school, I feel my daughter is continuing to excel here and is getting a great base education. The Camp Fire after school program has also been great--not overcrowded, and very supportive of completing homework as well as having fun in a safe environment.

I have two children presently in HS (9, 12). Thanks to Apache teaching staff for laying out the groundwork for hard work, dedication to academic success and setting high goals for themselves. My children are very lucky to have started at Apache. I thank them for their support through these years.

We are only one of two schools to make AYP every year. We also are the only Elementary School in the World with a Wildlife Museum on campus.

I am a parent of two students who attend Apache. My son needs special help, and I feel the counselor and the 6 teachers he has had went above and beyond for him. I am now at ease with him going into middle school because of the wonderful staff at Apache.

Although I am satisfied with this school, I would caution parents to keep in touch with the principal over ANY problems with a teacher. Some teachers are over zealous in their discipline. Too late I found out that other parents had the same problem. I wish they had said something before I had my troubles.

I have had very good experience with this school. Principal is very accessible. The teachers are older and experienced. The library is great! Library does not neglect the old books like Nancy Drew for the new books. There is a nice mixture of both. Playground is large, with shade available - important in a high desert environment. The children attending this school are disciplined and polite. There is every effort to include music, art, exercise in the curriculum without interfering with the focus on reading and arithmetic. The negatives are: Low parental involvement - many reasons, but believe this is a norm around the country. After school programs - Principal is trying to energize this. Music lessons would be good to add. No foreign language training except when addressed by enterprising teachers. I would like to see after school language programs especially in a state where 40% are Hispanic.

We were pleasantly surprised by this public school. My daughter has enjoyed her first two years of school here. The diversity of kids is great and the parents come from all sorts of backgrounds. All are genuinely interested in the education of their children. The classrooms are filled with plenty of wonderful learning tools and fun things as well. My daughters teachers have been great. The curriculum is well planned and my daughter has at least one day a week of computer, library, gym and music, beside all the other core courses. There is not much in the way of after school sports/activites which is about the only drawback. Most of the kids have planned after school activites that are in local businesses around the city (gymnastics, baseball, soccer, etc.). The facility is great with a large playground area, nice size cafeteria and big library. This school is highly recommended.

I think Apache is a wonderful school. The staff there are fantastic. My daughter has attended school at apache since kindergarden. Her teachers have all been outstanding. The teachers are very involved in each student as an individual even though their class size was large. My daughter has enjoyed being in student council and has been on honor roll since her enrollment in this school. I can not say enough good things about the teachers and this school.

I think Apache and it's staff is divine. My son has been at Apache since Kinder and is now a 3rd grader. As far as PTA goes, they are wonderful too. They have periodic meetings and we are informed of these meetings in advance via monthly newsletters. Apache is a close community. He has received an above average education. Students are pulled from his class to go to Title I reading so I know they are getting that extra edge, as well. Apache has a technology teacher, full time PE, Library, and had music for the first semester. They participate in Run For the Zoo every spring. I absolutely love his teacher. Apache is very lucky to have such a fine group of educators.

Apache has been real disappointing. The customer service in the main office is poor! I signed up to be in the PTA last year, and it was very unorganized. They were willing to take my money but not once was there a PTA meeting; if there was not all members were invited! My son is in the first grade, he has a great teacher, but she has twenty students and no time to have quality time with her students. I visited her class a couple of times and students were going in and out of the classroom, wihout permission, and it was very disturbing to see that the kids were not doing their work. The teacher was too busy with the kids that were not listening or doing what they should not than teaching these children. My son brings home unfinished work, which I feel when the students are in the classroom they should be attended to. It would be like me sending my son to school with his homework incomplete. A teacher would wonder, why is his mother or father not taking the time to help his or her son with homework? Why is his parents ignore the fact that they a have respondsibliity with his education? This is how I feel about the education my son is now receiveing. Teachers need assistance to help teach our children! I see many wonderful teachers that care and try, but they need help.
