Uncertified teachers that unmotivate your child. Any individuality and spirit your child has will be removed just like any faith they have. This is not the place for a happy student.

Menaul School is the best school our son has ever attended, and has been a wonderful fit for our family. The teachers are top notch and really challenge the students and provide a college prep atmosphere. Classes are small so students get the individual attention they need. Students are expected to think and challenge themselves. We feel like we found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow with this school! Of all the private schools, it is the most genuine and the tuition is more reasonable than the others. If you're considering a private education for your child, consider Menaul. There are scholarships available as well. I cannot say enough good things about Menaul.

Menaul School is the best thing that has ever happened to our family! This is the second private school we have had experience with in Albuquerque and it is a great fit for our son. He has been there a year and we have seen tremendous growth on a variety of levels. Class sizes are quite small, so getting additional help is never a problem. Menaul is an ISAS accredited school which does a great job of preparing students to go on to college. The faculty are fabulous and always available. Our son has been nurtured and supported by all who work at Menaul. The small class size forces the students to learn to get along and to work through differences. Unlike many large, public schools there is no place to hide if you want to fly under the radar. Menaul is worth the visit and more reasonable in cost than the many of the other private schools in Albuquerque. Under the direction of Lindsey Gilbert we believe Menaul will continue to grow and become a true "player" in the private school market in Albuquerque. The rich history, diversity and boarding program and size set it apart from all others!

My son is completing his 3rd year at Menaul and we love it. The calss sizes are wonderfully small so each student is truly encouraged to excel. I love the on line reporting of grades so I can keep up with how his classes are going. As well as, easy access to the staff for any private conversations. The school has added an international boarding program which adds another dimension to learning for todays world.

My son's 5th year at Menaul School is coming to a close. We are as happy with Menaul today as we were on our first day in 2006. Our Middle School experience was very positive. (Many of the teachers are still there) Middle School provided my son with guidance, safety, and a rigorous preparation for his High School years. High School continued the positive experience my son receives from Menaul School. Academics and College prep is rigorous, the sports program, with it's no cut philosophy, has changed my son's life, and the all inclusive spiritual embrace has expanded my son's learning experience. My son is a happy, confident, and curious young man. We owe that to the positive, safe, and caring environment found at Menaul School. For some reason this website is not allowing my 5 star rating to come through- but I give Menaul School a 5 star rating.

Menaul School currently has 98% of it's graduates accepted into the college of their choice. Students receive a good academic foundation for college, learn respect, how to interact with people from various backgrounds including international students, good public speaking skills, and participation in IA sports. Thanks to Mary Ann Weems, Menaul School has been selling student made jewelry and pottery at the Weems International Art Fest for several years. Teachers help the students learn to be live long learners and to take responsibility for their own actions. It is a growing school with a strong head of school and faculty. Parents are involved in the school to give a community/family feeling. Students and teachers are generally very supportive of each other. The high school mod system allows students to concentrate on one aspect of a specific subject with multiple options for exploring elective studies. Performing and Visual Arts are highlighted at the annual MAD Fest, May 7-8, 2011.

I have sent my children here for several years. Discipline is out of control in middle school. Even some (not all) of the mid-school teachers are sarcastic and rude to students. The school doesn't seem to know how to handle discipline. The high school "mod' system doesn't allow for deep exploration of the subject matter, its always a rush to get ready to finish the mod in just 41/2 weeks. The High School English dept is top notch, the Science dept is satisfactory but needs more offerings. Math is satisfactory, but they are not teaching students how to take the college entrance exams very well. It is easy to communicate with teachers, but can be frustrating to get responses from admin. I would not send my children to this school if it was free. I suggest carefully considering other options before committing to Menaul.

Menaul is a special gem of a school where a great education is not overpowered by pretense. Our son has found it a perfect family to grow with and to discover himself and his abilities. The faculty and staff are building people from lumps of clay, helping parents keep track and participate in their child's school life. Menaul is a truly great school!!!!!

We are a warm, caring school that is very up-to-date in our methods and curriculum, but very old school when it comes to study habits, discipline and high expectations. We are also very old school when it comes to being just that, an old, historic school with many families sending generations of students to us. It is like a large family here, with the support and love that comes with that. Menaul School is a great place to learn, to teach, and to build lifetime habits of service.

Menaul brought me up from a small farm boy to a proud adult. It taught me to be selfsufficient, help others, and take pride on who you are. The religious admosphere instilled in me the fove of God and to trust and love Him throughout my life.

After not enjoying going to school, within a day of joining the Menaul community, my daughter and myself immediately felt welcomed into this open and generous group of teachers, administrators, students and other parents. I have been part of other private and public schools with other children but never had this experience. It is genuine and the 'honeymoon' phase doesn't seem to be slowing over time. I am so vary happy with the decision to join this school. Every week they are intentionally and actively engaging families and students in new ways. Thank you Menaul!

Every single person is so friendly and nice. My daughter was nervous to start sixth grade but even the high school students helped make her feel welcome and at ease, something that is very rare nowadays. Now she loves school and strives to do her best. She even likes getting to school early in the morning. I have already seen huge changes in her behavior and I attribute that to Menaul School.

We have been involved with Menaul School for over a quarter of a century: first our children attended and then their children attended and some are still attending. We love, love Menaul; as parents we chose Menaul because of its the great student-teacher ratio and the values taught and lived on campus by all those involved with the school. Our children have gone on to become educated successful adults and choose the school for their children. The students are always respectful and one always feels welcome on campus. The high school years for our kids and grandkids have been highly positive thanks to Menaul!

My son is beginning his fourth year at Menaul School. We love this school more and more with each passing year. The historic campus, challenging cultivation of the mind, body, and spirit, and the dedication of faculty and staff far exceed the standard of excellence. There is something magical about Menaul School. One can not really put it into words, but those of us lucky enough to be affiliated with the school, all feel it, recognize it, and embrace it. Menaul School has developed a great new web site for potential parents and students. It'w worth a look. www.beapartofmenaulschool.com I highly recommend coming to Menaul for a visit. You will be stunned by the open, friendly, family-like atmosphere.

Menaul School has a devoted teaching staff and a very low student teacher ratio. This insures that an intensity of focus in the classroom. Students simply cannot get lost in this very small academic setting. Religious tolerance is stressed. Values clarification and community service are part of the circulum.

There is no other school quite like Menaul School, just as there is no other state quite like New Mexico. If you have a good student they will flourish anywhere, and the colleges will find them. But if your teenager is unimpressed by the need for higher education, it takes a whole school to keep him/her involved, to keep him/her pursuing the high school diploma, to keep him/her out of avenues that lead to future deadends. Now that is an education. One which puts Menaul above the curricular pursuits of public schooling. One which, only at a school representative of such diversity culturally/religiously/academically/socioeconomically/athletically, enables the students, maybe the parents, to be more globally oriented, ready to go into the 21st century.

Menaul is an outstanding school where students are valued as individuals and accepted for the unique qualities that they bring to the classroom. At Menaul, 'diversity' is not just some politically correct word that is bandied about, but an actual reality where people are judged by their character and contributions. The teachers and administrators are dedicated and available to meet with parents about any of their concerns. 98% of students go on to college and many of them to top schools: Dartmouth, Stanford, etc. I highly recommend this school.

We are new to Menaul this year. My daughter came from an area public school where she was simply lost in the large classroom enviroment. At Menaul the class size is much smaller and there is time for individual attention. So far, so good. My daughter is working hard and putting in much more effort than she had at the public school. She played sports during the semester for the first time. Everyone plays at Menaul. It was great to she her come home tired from practice and ready to attack her homework. I got a personal phone call from the Headmaster a month ago to tell me my daughter got a 100% on her math test. That kind of committment from an administrative staff is rare. We are happy with Menaul.

Menaul School is horrible. The teachers don't know how to teach. At least they think they know how. It is very poor and has no money and is a huge waste of money. I am a student at Menaul and I am leaving after christmas. My parents are disgusted by it's staff and programs. The only reason why they make the parents pay so much is because they have no money so they have to raise the tuition to make money even though it doesn't help. All the teachers don't teach the kids. Half of them in my grade are failing and the teachers don't inform the parents.

Menaul is a big waste of money, as it is going down the tubes FAST. The administration does little or nothing to help students when they have problems (not just academically related but issues like harassment, for example). The teachers, with the exception of a few, have very little respect for the students. If college prep means unbelievably easy classes where students basically sit and do nothing combined with insanely impossible classes in which nothing the student does, no matter how hard they try, is good enough according to the teacher, then who needs it?

this is a warning to from a preivous student to any parent that wishes to send their child to menaul school: DO NOT BOTHER. Here are the reasons why; 1)a great deal of teachers are biased and tend to pick favorites while other students are left to fend for themselves 2) the teachers often grade so harshly that not one student passes and when someone asks for help the teachers offer little or none at all. Overall, I would say Menaul is not worth the money send children somewhere else.

My nephew attended Menaul School last year. The quality of academic programs is well above average. The availability of music, art, sports and other extracurricular activities is phenomenal. The school always encourages parent involvement/ participation. Unfortunately, when my nephew started falling behind in a few of his classes, his parents were not notified in a timely manner. He was moved to the next grade level, but with a 'D' average. He has great potential, and I know if his parents were informed immediately of his academic performance (or lack thereof), he would have been set straight.

The Menaul School has no administrative control. The teachers are clueless. I was extremely disappointed with the school & removed my child after 9 weeks. The teachers failed to communicate with us. My child did not understand what was expected. Many of the staff left. The school is rapidedly declining.

I graduated from this school in the 1990s. It provided me with an excellent foundation for my undergraduate and graduate schooling. I would recommend parents to look at this school for their children - it has a wonderful college prepatory program. When I attended Menaul, the emphasis was not on the Presbyterian faith, but on Christianity, which makes it more open to all those in the Christian faith - not just Presbyterians.
