Why is the last review of this school FIVE years old? Where are you all? Parents? I visited this school last April with a carload of school supplies. I found the staff very professional and concerned. The building site itself is full of history and respect for the children and their families. Having a communication website like this one to air your opinions is a huge gift and opportunity. Where are you all? Parents? Where?
Wow, this is great! We can actually write about our little school way out here in the Southwestern part of the United States. I had two children that attended this school about 10 years ago, and they learned a lot. The school has really changed since then. I have a nephew that go to that school now. I have been to the school three times and it has really changed. I'm not thrilled about the activities and the quality of education that is provided as of today. When I entered the school campus all the staff were unwilling to talk to me. I just wonder if they are not allowed to talk to us guardians. No one is friendly anymore. What happened?
I am a parent at this school, however I am very happy and satisfied with this school in its academic standards. This school has made the Annual Yearly Progress two years in a row. My kids have really benefitted from this school. I believe all the staff are working hard to make their students above grade level. This year there was no parent involvement from the students' parents, there is communication thru the notes sent home. I believe if you have a concern, be more involve with her child's progress and in their school activities. I am involve with my kids' education and school activites. I know we are in need of sports activities, that will probably come when we get a new school. This is school is actually a good school if you come to all the activities and be more involve with your child's effort. Thank You Staff!
My daughter was a student with special needs and I feel that her needs were unmet. When she had troubles and was sent to the principal she was only yelled at, never helped to find her problem and find ways to solve it. Her teacher was ok, but the principal was mean at my daughter. It is a mirical that my daughter learned to read because the school has little or in some cases no materials to teach with. I say that some teachers are gifted and there for the right reasons and others have no business teaching Navajo children. The school has no music, art sports and extracurricular activities. Some parents come to the meetings, but are usually afraid to stand up and say what they mean, they might get yelled at. If the principal likes you, you are ok, but if she don't, you will get no help from her.
I'm a parent at this school. I'm sorry, but I don't have very good remarks about this school because the performance of the admistration is unsatisfactory. The parent involvement is low due to lack of communication. And the school is in desperate need of a lot of extracurricular activities which will benefit the children, staff and the community. Most of the teachers, aides and even the principal need to get trained about the No Child Left Behind Act, because our students grades are far behind compared to other schools within this area. I hope it will start changing soon. Parents are left out on a lot of plans and activities. All I ask is that we (parents) are informed about our childrens' test scores and be included in our childrens learning. Parents get involved now. Thank you!
Most people just talk about the bad things about this school and don't menton the good things. If parents want things to be done they have to be mentioned in a formal matter not just to be talked about. The parent involvment starts at home with the child and with the parent(s). My daughter is currently enrolled at this school, she has shown improvement in the Navajo Launguage and I am extreamly pleased. She also makes sure that she is at school everyday, also practices her spelling, and does her homework. Every friday she has a spelling test and she always gotten 100%, A+. She is also involved with girl scouts. The school does need to work on some things, such as a gymnasium and other extra curricular activities, but sometimes schools only get some much money a year. Overall I am satisfied with the progress that has happened thank you.
I'm a past parent of this school, my daughter attended this school 2 years ago. I'm mostly concern about the education of my child. My child was very excited about going to this school, it all changed when she had a bad experienced a with a teacher and the principal. I tried to work with the adminstration, nothing was done about the incident. I had no choice but to transfer her to another school. This school needs a whole new change of admistration and staff. The school had good remarks before, right now there's not enough parent involvement or a lot of extra activities for the students. The communication is very poor amongst the school, parents and commmunity. We need ideas on how to improve the education system, staff morale, and parent involvement. The No Child Left Behind Act is apparently not working at this school.
My child attend the school there and was not satisfied on how the school was operating. I had some issues with the school, principle and some teachers that were there at the time. My issues were never resolve in a professional manner and was never addressed. Parents that have their children currently there should be more involved in what's going on. I transferred my child to another school and now I'm very satisfied with the school. The school was always at high standards when the previous principle was there. We sure do miss her. It seems like the education level has dropped to a non-priority. Hope the school can be brought back up to where it use to be three years ago. Thank you!
This particular little school is located in a remote area of the eastern Navajo Reservation. The school has always been a good school for our local students, right now it hasn't been the greatest. Every time a new principal comes to this school everything changes, some for the best and some for the worst. Right now, the school needs improvements in the academic programs, such as language arts, science, reading and math. My child's test scores has fallen a great deal and right now I want to inform the school board about it. I don't think it's right for my child to suffer because some of the teachers are not teaching only the aides. Our school is in need of a gymnasium for all kinds of activities for the students. Our parent involvement is low, there's no communication at this school.
