i actually am attending dexter high school and i am part of the school band. this school is the best school i have been to and that anybody can wish for to attend. it is a small school so you have lots of friends and all the teachers make sure grades are always before sports. so i have good grades!
Well I went to dexter schools for a while now and I think that the school is such a great school. The teachers are great at getting you to try your best and with all the new systems in place, a much better school. Sports is a great way to get us off the bad influences and getting us to doing new past times The school is growing rapidly and well even though with this growth it still knows everys student there and what they need help with. The tutoring program is getting our students to be proficient in every level. The best school i have attended.
I like the school however, I don't like the support that the music department recieves. The music departments need more support by the band parents and more involment from the school board and have the music department have their own booster club rather than being in with the athletic department. I have a daughter attending enmur that has recently graduated from Dexter High and I think she should have recieved 4 years of math and not just 3.
Dexter High School use to be one of the best schools in the valley. Dexter has lost its reputation and hopefully with the new super it will regain it. Sports if fun and important for most schools but when Schools like Dexter put sports in front of academics it is sad. Adacemics should always be first. Sports players should be taught to act respectful and be kind to people instead of bulling people. My daughters were harassed by sports players in Dexter School for over 8 months and Dexter School did nothing about it. All students have a right to feel safe in school. When these sports players are harrassing other student and getting away with it, it is a embarrasment to anyone that lives there. I remember, when Dexter High was a great School. Ms. Parsons, good luck.
