Some of the teacher even bring their personal problems into the students lives' and it great affects the learning-atmosphere. They have a 'zap' system that functions by giving students a 'zap' for breaking one of the rules. If a student gets three zaps, its a detention. Students get zaps for chewing gum, not being quiet in the cafeteria, and sometimes for expressing opinions. The 'zap' system is highly ineffective and, most (if not all) students continue with the rule breaking. In the lunchroom, the students are not allowed to talk or eat their lunch until the supervising teacher say they can. I'm not saying that it is a terrible school, just that it has some substantially big issues.
The principal is great with all the kids and try a possitive approach instead of negative. He is the most approachable and understanding principal I have met and that is after having my own 3 children in schools. My granddaughter is totally enjoying being a 5th grader and is happier than she has been any other year!
Hi, I am not a teacher or parent i'm actually a student. I've gone to Eagle Nest School since the 3rd grade.. i am now in the 7th grade and love my school. We go to school 4 days a week tuesday - friday. The parent involvement is amazing and the classes are pretty small so every student gets the exact amount of attention or help that he/she may need. Our school offers basketball, track, and vollybal to 6th -8th graders. The Middle School subjects are PE, health, language arts, literaure, science, art, spanish, history, band and problem solving.
