Great school, dynamic principal. My child was very happy
This is the best school in Los Alamos. Many people buy a house just so that their children can attend Barranca. Academically it is top notch. The teachers are excellent. It is not overcrowded like Mountain School and doesn't suffer from children leaving and coming throughout the year (due to drawing students from apartments and rentals) like Aspen. The library is wondeful. The children also attend music, art, and PE classes each week. The school has a terrific computer lab, as well. This school's main drawback is lack of parental involvement. The PTO constantly needs help, but the same parents always 'step up.'
