We have two children at Ponderosa and could not be happier with our selection. The staff is fantastic. Our oldest will be entering kindergarten already reading, doing math, and with a better understanding of world geography than most adults I know. The student teacher ratios are appropriate. The facilities are old but they are up to or being brought up to code. There is air conditioning in all the rooms despite what another review says. The school is a non profit Montessori operating on a shoe string and they do wonders with it. The parental involvement and participation is great. I highly recommend Ponderosa to anyone.
Ponderosa has amazing Montessori-certified teachers! Staff is extremely caring and attentive to our children. We also had some foster children at this school that were positively transformed!! That sold us on this school. Great classrooms, great playground! Teachers regularly review our children's progress. There is air conditioning in every classroom, which another reviewer incorrectly stated. Student to Teacher ratio is low and current Director and staff are great!!!
Ratio of staff to student is very hi and administration very disorganized. The building is old and not to up to code. No air conditioned during the hot New Mexico summers. It's a very old school that has not been updated.
