I am looking into 'jumping' districts next yr. This school has some great teachers. A great majority of the office staff is rude and lazy. The special ed department is busting at the seams. With some of the special needs behaviors & actions being apauling to me as a parent. I can't even begin to tell of horrors going on at this school. A lot of Kids are coming from really bad homes. Sadly, Mountainview seems to be the heart of our drug problem as a community. Avoid this school.

I taught at this school during the 2007-08 school year, and with a few possible exceptions, found the staff and others to be friendly and sincere in their efforts for our children. I was very impressed by the Art department, people who genuinely care about the education of the children and prove this in an on going fashion by working tirelessly, with little budget and no pay. Kudos, to the AIS director. Also a hand for the Music Dept.

I've never been so disappointed in a school before. While some teachers try their best and actually care, others are allowed to single out children, affecting their emotional developement. My child comes home, distraught daily by the fact that his teacher will not listen to him. Furthermore, it appears that discipline in his teacher's class is biased. After meetings with the teacher, it is apparant that there is no legitimate effort to resolve these issues.

Mountainview has high quality teachers and a great staff and principal. Class sizes for my kids have been nice and small and all kinds of academic programs are available in this rural school.
