Respect abounded and there were no serious disciplinary problems. Catered lunches and a week-long field trip were included without extra charge, not to mention all the great daily opportunities for growth. My daughter attended the Academy for six years and graduated in 2004. It was a great experience for a student who thrives in a small class environment. All the students were encouraged to express themselves and were required to speak in front of groups, creating a general comfort and confidence in all the students. The students became like a family. The caring faculty helps the students optimize differing interests and capacities. And there is as much emphasis on the arts as on the sciences! The school's financial aid program generously helped us with the cost of a great education. Perhaps best of all, the college counseling program helped every graduate to match him/herself to a really good college that would want her/him.
