The music program has grown, tripled in size from less than 20 students to over 60 in two years. The school has an excellent art program and a growing AG and woods program, a big plus for kids who are not college bound. All the teachers seem willing to help students improve academically, no matter what subject they teach.
Wow, I can't even describe the disappointment I feel about this school. I have a learning disorder and my school decides to use the money they recieved for my condition to fund there sports program. I have never such such sexual misconduct and lack of respect in my life between students. This school has got what coming to them. As much as I hate government involvement, Hot Springs High School needs a huge reform in the matters of educational gain. I as a student have been in the Truth or Consequences School system for about ten years straight. I know that the education offered is below exemplary, in fact its below satisfactory, In all the years I have attended I have only had about 2 decent teachers who knew what they were doing and actually taught, This school is a daycare. They don't teach.
Needs huge improvements. Parent involvem ent used to make a difference here. My child struggles in math, and I offered my assistance to tutor not only my own child but others FREE. Offer was rejected-no explanation given. In fact, I was never notified-found out through the grapevine later. Such professionalism. It never used to be this way. HSHS welcomed involved parents. New principal runs the school like a jail. No innovation-no success. Teachers are even controlled with a heavy hand which has little effect on student success. Good teachers are leaving! Ms. Pargas, you cannot expect grand results using a faulty plan. Get on the ball and give these kids the education they deserve, or start fitting your prisoners with orange jumpsuits! What an utter disappointment this school has become. Don't expect better state test scores here.
this is the best school ever!!!!!!!!!
the kids at this school are nice and very welcoming. when i first moved here i was scared but everyone was so nice and i hope every one that comes feels the same as me.
