the worst! Some teachers are ok and actually care but not many and the staff; Rude, obnoxious, try to intimidate students,, teachers fudging Regeants test scores, fasley accusing students, no call backs to the parent when they call over and over. Just overall POOR conduct by MOST.

This school district is dreadful. The administrators are arrogant. They try to intimidate parents & kids alike. Many of the teachers do not care about kids. A few teachers are very caring, but they are not appreciated by the administration. The board of ed goes along with everything the supt says. The building project is a joke. More community members need to become involved, attend board meetings and ask questions.

I was a former student here as a child, and later, as a high school student (Ive recently graduated). After moving to Corning after elementary school, I switched back to Addison in my second year of highschool and boy do I regret that. I had kids stealing from me, spitting in my food, pushing me down the hall and stairs. When I informed the principal/instructors of such happenings, nothing was done. Not only is this a school full of animals, they're extremely racist and these teachers do nothing to correct the problem. I had to switch to the all day Boces program where I received an amazing education filled with loving, caring staff. Addison needs MAJOR MAJOR improvements, and not just to the outside either. I will NEVER send my children to these schools.

As a fomer student i beleive addison did the job that it was suppose to... prepare me for the future. Now that i am at college there is very little that i come in to contact with that i'm not prepared for. Some can question the teachers but its the students. The one thing that concerns me is the sports... i dont think that the school gets how much they could benefit from good sports teams. It would bring in income and it would bring in more students. Yes education is important but so are sports and they need to see this.

As a parent and former high school teacher and college professor, I have serious concerns about the academics and teaching skills and staff turnover at Addison. Teachers seem unskilled in multiple learning styles and Gardner's Multiple Intelligences and often work 'by rote', with 'read-and-quiz' methods; explanation and true teaching are too often lacking. Content is far below other regional schools, especially in English (both lit and comp),which shows in poor SAT scores and preparation for college boards. Twice, Addison has been listed 'In Need of Improvement' during my child's time by NY, yet tutoring (which is mandated) has not been offered to able and motivated students. My child has good grades there, but they are in no way comparable to similar grades at better schools and, sadly, do not prepare students from Addison for reputable, four-year colleges or universities. Communication with parents of extended or multiple-household families has been hugely disappointing.

I feel that the Addison School District has really gone down hill. I feel that you walk into the school and you can pick out the very few teachers that are there for our students. Most of them are there just for the pay check. They are more concerned about sending our children out to ISS or giving them detention then they are teaching them. No wonder our test scores are so low. They need to give our students respect and they would find they would receive respect in return. We are one of the highest paying schools around and I ask why. When there is a problem you can never speak to one as they are always in a meeting. I feel the state needs to step in and investigate what is going on.

Thus far, I have been happy with the education my daughter has received at Addison. The school is certainly not perfect, and there is always room for improvement. However, we provide our children with transportation to and from after school activities, daycare, and other support services our neighboring districts do not have access too. In regard to our academic standards, my daughter has always done well, and appears to be getting a good education. However, it is my responsibility as her parent to advocate for her, if this was not the case. Our school does not have the greatest reputation, hopefully parents we are not contributing to this reputation. Instead, be part of the solution!

The quality of the education at acs is the best in this area we are a small school which means smaller classes our teachers have the same training and education as those at larger schools but education don't stop just at the bus doors as a parent you need to know your role and get involved my daughter has been on high honor roll since the 4th grade because education comes 1st in my home the extras teachers here need help from the parents as well so before you knock them for doing their part try doing yours teachers at addison are the best in this area.

The education at this school is poor to moderate. The staff does not care enough about the quality of education to improve on it. There have been teachers that did not have the apporpriate teaching credentials to teach. Administration and teachers are more concerned about social aspects with other teachers then with education. There is an adequate amount of sports offered. Little parent involvement.
