Good school, offers good classes. Most teachers are very good, and the only downfalls of the school are those which affect any high school.

Colonie high school is full of ignorant close minded students as well as faculty and administrators. I find it to be an environment where all of my creativity and ideas are shut down by the arrogance of the people in the school. Its full of hate and the school itself is a mess. I feel that problems among the students are solved most times by physical measures and the teachers provide no example for the kids. I would choose any other school in the area to go to instead of Colonie.

The teachers have been great as well as the education my children receive. I attended Colonie Central High School and now my children do. I like what I see and what my children get out of their school experience.

Colonie is a great school. it offers a wide arrange of ap and honors classes. the teachers are all very friendly and respectful. And to add to it, i am neither a jock nor a minority and i am well known and respected by both the teachers and administrators. You can see that the comments on this page contradict each other, one claims that minority respect is horrible, the other claims that minorities get preferential treatment? how can that be. as for segregation in the cafeteria, o body is forcefully separating children in colonie, and as it happens i see a wide array of multiculturalism in this school. I highly recommend it to anybody.

My daughter will be graduating from Colonie High next June. The experience for her has been really great with her peers, but oftentimes with some teachers, she has had a hard time. Some of the teachers act as if the student has no right to ask questions - forgetting that he/she is there for the students. It has gotten to the point where she doesn't like to ask questions of some of the teachers and would rather ask her peers or figure it out herself. Now don't get me wrong, there are some good teachers. Overall, my daughter is having some good experiences and is involved in a lot of extra activities. At this point, there is no other school in the area that I would want her to be in. I graduated from Colonie, my sisters, brother and my sons have also graduated from Colonie - it's a good school.

This is an ok school. I would have to say this would have to be my second choice for the school i would choose for my child. Many things happen inside the school that never get out.

This school is known for it's technology program with many college classes. Yes! I do mean actual REAL college classes! I have a daughter who took 4 technology classes for college credit plus Psychology for college credit for a very low price and now she can graduate either a year or semester early from college. Thank you Colonie hs! I gave the school 4 stars because I do not agree with the foreign language requirement. I think students should be able to take technology, art, business or music classes if they are not interested in foreign language.

I feel that this school is terrible. Teachers often will just write down the material but not actually teach it. Segregation is shown greatly in the cafeteria and everywhere. Basically the cheerleaders, jocks and minorities rule the school leaving people who aren't those out in the cold and with a major disadvantage. Going to Colonie high led to the worst years of my life.

The academic program for this school is great. The teachers go one on one with the kids if they need help. You need a certain amount of credits to graduate the school so the students would have a head start in college and the real life. The grades are also very good. The availability of extra activities in this school is great. There is so many clubs and music and art programs. Some of the clubs are mock trial, key club, outing club, art club, and the most popular drama club. There is also jazz band, and a whole bunch of sports like cheerleading, football, baseball, soccer, hockey, etc. The parent involvment in this school is not all that great. The way parents have participated in the school stinks. Some of the parents that are involved are awesome. They help out alot with fundraisers and sports and the big play Zombie prom.
