The academics are on point! My daughter is advanced, a tutor to other students, and currently taking a 9th grade algebra class so she can take the regents before she enters h.s. What they do lack is Arts. I wish they would invite this into students lives. They are extreme intense w/academics, hence it being a "college prep" school. As for the negative comments, perhaps suspension, and grade failure begins at home. Parents need to interact w/their children and encourage education, rather it being a punishment. How your child behaves and fails is a reflection of what they learn from a young age, at home! I was raised in Brooklyn, and my children still raised up in a rough area, but that doesn't mean they have to be a failure like everyone else in the neighborhood that decides to become failures in life. Control your atmosphere so your children can be our future. Thank you Albany Prep for strict ground rules and academic foundation! You guys are doing an awesome job!!

This school is horrible. The teachers always wants to be the students friends, then when they get mad and want to put their "foot down" and the students does not listen because how are you to want to be acting like your my friend and all cool then want to "flip".The principal is never in never in school. The school doesn't know how to controll the kids. Then they decide to hire hall monitors when school is over in 2 weeks.Albany Prep makes public schools look good for example Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School beats Albany basically every year in test scores

This is the worst school. The teachers do not know how to teach and the kids are being deprived of an education. Buyer beware of this school if you want to consider it a school.. It is more that a glorified daycare. The kids are suspended more than they are in school since the staff has no clue on how to deal with children. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE

Albany Prep is great! My child has excelled in every aspect. I would recommend this school to anyone who wants their child to succeed in academics and in life. Albany Prep is the answer for you.

We love this school. The environment allows our child to focus on academics. With an emphasis on positive reinforcement we see children who are thriving both academically and socially. Every child says they love this school they say, they feel safe, I see this safety translate into kindness to each other.

This school is a mess. The lack of organization is a great concern along with the lack of any communication or consistency. Do not consider this school.
