The teachers at Giffen are dedicated to their kids and make sure they receive a quality education. I've never been happier with the public school teaching environment.

Academic programs are great. My daughter got perfect score in NY state ELA exam & 4.0 GPA in all other subjects. Earned $8000.00 scholarship to go to private school for middle school. School has chess tournament, Basketball, Tennis, Field trips, free YMCA after school program, free lunch, Jr. leadership conference programs to go to Washington, People to people connection program to go to Australia & New Zealand, Jhon Hopkins program for gifted children, Intense reading program, Student govt association (SGA), Parent teacher association (PTA), School has a nurse & moreover school also has a health center for all the enrolled children with full health coverage run by Whitney young center's NPs & Drs. There are so many more programmes. The best elementary school in city of Albany- academically & as far as the affordability is concern. It is safe too.

It's a wonderful school with so many different academic & sports related programme. Free afterschool programme & hard working teachers & principles.
