The school refuses to allow prospective parents--either individually or in a group setting such as a prearranged open house--to tour the school at any point for any reason. Believe me, I tried--I offered to visit at any time that was convenient to administrators--and was told it was against school policy to allow such visits. In other words, you can't set foot in the building during school hours prior to your child actually enrolling. To me this is unacceptable in a public school. I was about to buy a house in the area--but declined to do so once I learned of this policy, which suggests a lack of confidence of educators at the school and a lack of openness, even contempt toward parents. I have lived all over the country (including elsewhere in NYState) and have never encountered this policy at any other public school. Very, very disappointing.
