After my kids attending the school for one and half years, I really question if the prior comments were posted by some local realtors. The school stuff are unfriendly and generally grumpy, teachers are unable to control the class but very good at pushing back parents' requests. Also if you'd like your kids to expose to a little bit of variety, don't send them here because the place is a very small enclosed jewish community with no diversity at all.
Coman Hill excells at the handoff from nursery school to Primary school. There's a Get To Know Your School program for preschoolers, so they've experienced the school and ridden on a bus before Sept. Don't worry like I did -- CH seems to have the gift of making the child feel secure, with orderly routines and warm, even tempered teachers and aides. (Each class has a full time aide.) The class size is 18 to 22, and they are very supportive to lagging students. The teachers are great, the school is wonderful, and we're lucky to have it.
Coman Hill Elementary School is an excellent academic institution. Mr. Finelli has been the Principal there for the last 2 years and has been wonderful! My child loved his teacher in Kindergarten and now, First Grade. The school is extremely academic. My child receives a great deal of homework, reading assignments, spelling tests and projects. Coman Hill is simply the best!
