P.S. 234

The school has wonderful teachers with a poor excuse for a principal. One 1st grade class in particular has a student who since September, has assaulted everyone from his peers, his para, assistant principal, and the principal herself, and is still in the same classroom he started the year in. His teacher has suffered the consequences of trying to balance her class' dynamic as he constantly interrupts lessons. He directs profanity to other students and his teacher as well as supervisors. He flashes gang signs and graffitis the desks. Today he even attempted to swing at his own teacher with a fist. Police have been called twice to the school for incidents involving this student and he has been escorted by EMT to the hospital as a result of it. This all coming from a 6yr old that clearly has issues and does not belong around others his age that are normal. His mother does not appear to be cooperative either with finding a place rightly suited for him and pins blame on administration for the incidents. And what has the principal done? Nothing!

I have three children of which one remains in 234. My second one just graduated from there. We are lucky to be zoned for this school. The school is well run. From the principal to the office people to security to the teachers, everyone is always trying to help the children in every way possible. There are always special family nights and the staff volunteers. The kids are given a lot of practice so they can do good on their tests. Teachers work hard to get their students to do better. The administration is always buying the newest things for the teachers to teach and for the kids to work with. Thank you 234 for helping my children so much.

I have 2 children that go to 234. I can't say enough how much my children, myself, and my husband love the school. The principal has done a great job hiring wonderful teachers and staff. My kids get up for school and are excited about going to school. The school is like our family, our home. Any problem or issue that arises in my kids lives the principal is always there with her heart open to me, my kids, my family and just makes sure that she is involved in a great solution. Its nice to hear from my kids that the principal visits their class and actually knows their names and has a relationship with my kids. We always know what's going on in the school because the principal is always sends letters home and even calls us. I just love the school. The principal is the best there is and that's why the school is the best school in the city.

I love this school for my son Im so glad I choose this school. He loves it here and the school staff is sooooooo friendly. The teaching and the kids learning is amazing.

My son love his teacher Miss Teodoratos. ,he is in special education he made such a great progress .The O.T.,P.T.,S.T. they all work together ,we see Miss Pallos everyday she know all the student by name .We are happy to be part of P.S. 234 ,GREAT SCHOOL.

Great school, amazing building, very nice teachers and staff. The parent coordinator is helpful and organized. The Counselor is one of a kind person, really caring, really sweet and dedicated to the children she sees. There is a sense of "home" inside the school, where everyone feels as if they are really a part of a family. I would suggest that the parents work deeper in getting themselves more involved with the school. There is always room for improvement, but i am happy that my child has had these people in her life, after having such a hard time with violent behavior in another school. At PS 234 violence is not accepted at all.

Ps 234 is trully excellent! starting with their leadership. The principal and Asst. Principals are very professional and care first and foremost about the students and their teachers. Scores go up every year because of these professionals. Mayor Bloomberg has nothing to do with that. Keep It Up 234 you're awesome!!!!!

When my son attended PS234 it was the best thing for him. It is an amazing school, amazing Teachers , Mrs. Fauerstein is the best Asst. Principal ever. I have never seen such a wonderful group of people who care so much and treat all of the children as if they were there own. They worked with me all the time no matter what and that was very important to me... It is such a great feeling to know that your child will suceed, get the best education and have a great school year and have fun at the same time. For the first time in 9 years my son Loves school and cant stop saying how much he misses school. Thank you all for the best school year , keep up the great work and we miss you very much! =)
