B-G is a caring school community. The system is small enough that no child is ignored and teachers try to reach out to individual students. If you wish to prepare for competitive colleges, you need to carefully select your schedule for rigor and seek out opportunities in your area, but the staff will assist you and will help you connect.

This school system needs serious help. My children where in the system since 3rd and 4th grade. They both recieved high grades at BG high 80's to high 90's. We then moved to a much larger community and enrolled them in a private school. Before entering they had the children take an equivilancy exam to to check where the children stood. Well, They were not only behind by at least a grade at the private school we had them tested in the surrounding public schools and they were also a year behind. Passing students and underteaching so they can get grants for computers isn't a school I wouls ever send my children to. It's sad we had to find out this way.

We specifically moved out of a local district to Bainbridge, so that our children could attend BG school district, It was the best choice we ever made!

I used to attend BG and I absolutely loved it. The teachers are amazing, because it is a very small school you can really get to know them and they help you with whatever you need. This is really the only school I have been to that has felt like someone was actually there to help you out. The only thing I didnt like was the lack of diversity with the students. Overall, this school was amazing to attend and I would go back any day if I had the chance.

I attended BG school from Second Grade until I graduated in 2002. My mother is also a teacher at BG. Even though the school is very rural, it is a safe place to live and the people are genuine. I feel like the teachers get to know the students well and they truly interested in their success. Knowing first hand (since my mother would come home to grade her papers) the teachers are happy when the students are succeeding. The $ financial help for sports teams are different than they were when I was a student, but we had a wide range of sports from table tennis to wrestling, basketball, football, swimming, volleyball etc. I am now a Registered Nurse, licensed in 3 states and I owe my success to the education I received as a high school student at BG. BOCES has programs for BG students too.
