My third child is currently in B.S. Middle School and we absolutely love the school, the educators, other parents and Security Personnel. Its an all around family oriented, caring environment. Kudos to all @ BS MS

I am very impressed by this school. I just moved into the district this year. I just had my first parent teacher conference and I was totally impressed. The teachers were so intuned to my child. They seemed to know her personality. They know her strengths and weaknesses. They did not treat my child like a number. The teachers all are willing to help her through her transition into the new district. The school also has so many clubs and activities. They are also starting to try to prepare her for college already in the 7th grade. Excellent school.

BMS is perhaps one of the best schools in NYS. The teachers are excellent and the administrators are efficient. This is my 3rs child going through and I have no regrets.

My son loves the middle school. He has been doing great ever since he started. With caring teachers and after school activities, you just can't lose.

This is a great school with a wide selection of extracurricular activities. The teachers care and the schoolwork is challenging. Any extra help that a student needs is given to them, whether after school, before school, or at luch. Also, it is not a cliquish school. Not to mention, Bay Shore has a hefty budget, and is equipped with a weight room, wrestling room, two gyms, and a workout 'wellness' room, which has treadmills, stairmasters, and exersize bicycles. There is a computer lab with around 40 PC's. You can't forget the huge auditorium, great productions with the theatre and drama students, and any students involved in band won't be disappointed. I recommend this school to any and every sixth through eighth grader forunate enough to be a able to attend. Their parents have nothing to worry about.

Great emphasis on looking ahead towards preparing for high school and college. Music and theatre productions are excellent. Wish that the staff would make better use of technology to communicate with parents on a regular basis and getting away from relying on kids to communicate info back to home (which rarely happens until its a crisis situation!) - Team teaching practices are good but would be stronger with a more integrated curriculum approach.

Bay Shore Middle is an excellent place for children to be challenged to their potential. THe wonderful mix of ethnic backgrounds makes for a real world environment with dedicated professional staff who care for their students. I would highly recommend. Special note: Ranked Music and arts programs.

The faculty and staff at this school seem really committed to allowing the kids in the community to develope and prpepare themselves for the next level of education. There seems to be sufficient good quality programs available to meet the needs of the children. The student seem to participate in significant off campus activities such as trips into Manhattan for cultural events and the school sports teams tend to be very competitive and highly regarded among their peers. The community continues to pass the budgets unlike many surrounding areas and from all of the comments I hear from other parents, the community is totally behind the efforts of the school district. I am very satisfied with the progress of my children and really admire the level of committment of the faculaty and staff at this school.

This is actually a review for the elementary school, %th Ave. In my experience this is an excellent school with committed teachers. I was homeschooling and wary of putting my 2 girls into school. However, I gave it a shot, and was pleasently surprised. The curriculum is demanding, and they have great music and art classes. Parental involvement is always encouraged. I was very impressed at my daughters progress in this school.
