My daughter is thriving at Southwest. This is an excellent school in a district that gets a bad rep. Southwest is a racially diverse school, which teaches the children early how to deal with differences in backgrounds and upbringings. Southwest is a melting pot, and her years here have been very rewarding. Thanks to all the staff.
I am so happy with my decision to put my second child into Southwest Elementary. The teachers are exceptional and the staff as well. I have an older child who attended private school and regret not giving this school a chance. I look forward to my child's future at Southwest, as does she.
Southwest Elementary School in Bayshore is home to my Kindergartener. I find it a good environment for my son. The class size is 15 and the teacher is knowleageable of the activities it takes to interest the students. Children wear uniforms to school, which gives them a sense of uniformity and everyone seems to be involved in school activities. Music, art, and social studies are also covered, remember this is only kindergarten and script is already introduced as a major writing skill. Physical education is by far my son's favorite subject -- because he can play and pretend with his friends like he did in the carefreee days of pre-school. all in all -- Southwest is an 8 on my scale of 1-10.
My child attends Southwest Elementary School. I am very pleased with what my child has accomplished at this school. Although he has many more gains to accomplish, and if any school can help him do it, it will be South West Elementary School. So far, the teachers he has worked with are excellent. They are compasionate and understanding. In ten months I have seen tremendous gains in my child's academic and social skills. The special education staff deserves a metal. I only hope that my child continues to have the same type of teachers that he had during the 2002-2003 school year. I look foward to working with you during the 2003-2004 school year. Keep up the good work.
My child goes to Southwest,I am pleased with whahe has learned.The staff is super.I just the school had more afterschool sports,not that you have to have your child join football,baseball and other sports threw the town.
