Connetquot has always had a problem with bullying. Not just students bullying each other, but many of the staff and educators will take part as well. The teachers turn a blind eye to much of the misbehavior of the students as well as the inappropriate behavior some of their fellow teachers display in regards to some of their students. The curriculum is unimaginative and one sided. What is taught to the students is only enough to pass the exams and a bare minimum of useful studies is imparted to the students. Those attending this school have trouble performing in college due to the lack of proper education and parents whose children attend this school should not be surprised to see their children fail many college courses the first two years at a university. What matters here is if your child is on a sports team and if they're popular enough to be in the student government. If they are, your child will sail through with no problems. If your child is not social enough for that though, then be prepared for them to be tormented constantly by their peers and their so called educators.

The school is known for there slogan No Child is left behind, that is a joke, They had me place my child in a class with kids with learning disabilities and told me she would learn well that was the biggest mistake of my life. its like a cemetary once you check in you never check out, well let me tell you my child is so far behind you cant get any behind. as long as they got paid they didnt care about my daughters education, and on top of this they had a teacher touch my child in places that should no never happend and guess what I took my child out of school to prevent this from happen again, no child should go through what my child had went through, take my advice dont ever put your child in a class with kids with learning disability

I moved into this school district to give my daughter a better chance at her education, and was very happy with the way the school welcomed us in. The teachers are wonderful and should be acknowledged to the fullest. But the higher staff including the guidance and principals on the other hand have some issues. The 9th grade principal has a unprofessional demeanor in handling of his students, speaking at them and yelling loud enough for all the hear. This school has a lot of students and not enough staff to help them out. I am very involved in my daughters schooling here and if it weren't for the great teachers then we wouldn't be attending CHS!!

I am a parent who attened CHS it was great, all the staff cares so much about every student. Also my son will be a grad.2009 of CHS. I would have never sent him to another high school . May years later with new structure and teachers, Connetquot is still a great school over all.

I'm actually a student here, and I know, this is a great school. Theres have a ton of AP classes, great teachers- I can think of 8 just from this year alone. Granted, there are faults, but what school doesn't? Overall its a good school. I dont know how some programs are, such as special education, remidal levels or even most Regents levels are since I'm in the Honors/AP track for the most part. The band is amazing, Lasher and Johnson do a great job every year. In any case, thers a great varitey of classes available- I'm looking to study archeology in college and as a junior, I'm able to take classes that start off in the anthrology/archeology/sociology track. Already, I'm getting a background in classes I'll need to take in college, such as my AP Statisics class next year and sociology last semester. This is an amazing school.

Music/Theatre program is superb, as are the sports programs. Student body always offers many ways to be involved, although-- as with any high school, some may feel timid if they're not part of the 'in' crowd. The opportunities are there, if the student feels compelled to participate. Great expectations for the gifted, whoever, disappointingly lacks in support/guidance for the average student. Parents seem to be very heavily involved (thank you, parents!). As a former BOE rep for the student body, it was quite encouraging to see the parents come out to the monthly meetings. Would love to see more diversity in the future. Overall a great school.

Connetquot High is a decent school, with a wide variety of courses to choose from. Teachers range from completely incompetent to inspiring: it's all in the luck of the draw. The school focuses too much on sports and has low standards for the average student.

Connetquot H.S. has an outstanding music program that has been a huge inspiration to my daughter. She has expressed many times how happy she was to have attended C.H.S. The teachers were always available for extra help, or simply to talk. In today's toubled times CHS is such a safe school for children to attend. CHS was able to offer not only AP classes to challenge my daughter, but also resource classes to help my son to obtain his HS diploma too. CHS is there to help all the children who attend to not only become well educated, but also an asset to our community.
