I had a good experience at this school until the new principal was hired. Sadly she is not vested in the girls, the school, or her staff. Ms. Stevens the new principal does not greet the girls during morning drop off. Unlike her predecessor she does not no many of the girls by name. Ms. Stevens is rarely at unity meetings, an event used to celebrate students and their accomplishments. Ms. Stevens does not respond to parents concerns in a timely manner. Her respones are often deceptive in nature. There are classes being taught by poorly prepared substitutes. Teachers are constantly leaving the school. Ms. Carroll, Ms Mercano, and Ms. Hannity are awesome, but there is only so much they can do. This school is a sinking ship, a ship without a competent leader. A leader who was hired and came from a failing school that she started. Whom ever hired the current principal has no interest in our children. Like other parents, my child will not be returning to Girls Prep Bronx in the fall.
