My Daughter is starting Kindergarten at this school and she is enjoying it so far. Although is only been 3 months into the school year, there has been plenty of meeting and parent related as well as children related activities in the school. Which i think is a good motivation for kids to see their parents join in. I so far like the school alot but i would have to agree they have to organize events a little better at times. Btw my daughter's teachers is the oldest out of all the other kindergarten teachers and i was afraid it was going to work out for my daughter and it turns out she is so dedicated to make sure her class learns.

My daughter currently attends kindergarten at this school and she loves. it. Her teacher Ms. Schoner has been excellent and she has learned so much in the course of the year. After school activities and parent functions could definitely be more organized but overall I have been pleased with this school.

I am a mother of 3, my first child graduated from ps41 (darrian A. Fields), he will be 16 this December. I can not recall his teacher names at this moment, but I can tell you that Darrian recieved the attention and the motivation to continue to achieve his goals. He is now a 11th grader in the Maryland public school system and remains on honor roll. Currently, my other two children J. Alanah Jones (4th), and Christian A. Jones (5th) are in attendance. They are also on honor roll. At the beginning of school I asked Christian how he liked his new teacher ( Ms. Moore), he stated that she was like his second mom and continues to florish. My daughter has the same teacher as last year (Mr. Quinn) they know and understand one another. As a mom I'm pleased with the progress my children have made since attendeding.

I would give this school a very bad rating i moved here form New Jersey this past january and i was forced to put my seven year old daughter in this school, coming from the excellent schools in new jersey i was not impressed one bit with the teachers, the staff, the administrators and the school in general my daughter is very smart and started school early and being in this school i felt that she did not learn anything worth wild i was so anger, alot of the children are very disrespectfull and not focused on learning i felt like some of the teachers have given up on the student and are just there for a pay check there is no passion for teaching and learning in this school. there is no comp classes, no gym, no library, no music what kind of school is this. Never again.

My dauther recently completed the 3rd grade at this school, and has been in attendance at PS 41x since kindergarten. I am more than pleased with the teacher's staff, and Principals that represent PS 41x. I love the parent nights, bake sales, book sales, and other events held. The school includes parents and family members in their activities, giving the school a real community feel. Great school!

My son has attended this school for the last 3 years. My son is very bright and has styaed on the honor roll. I have had to come to school on numerous occassions because of kids choking him, badly scratching his face, bullying, etc. Most times it was the same kid, with the school doing nothing to correct the actions of the offender. We have been fortunate in that all of my son's teachers have been dedicated and caring. The pta is a farce b/c meetings take place at 8:30 am which is for working parents to attend. Therefore a selected(by the principal) few get to make the decisions for the majority. Thank god my son has been accepted to a great school for septenber and we will no longer have to deal with such an incompetent administration in an woefully under resourced school.

This school has the potential to be a leading academic school in our district as well as in the Bronx. I believe if we had more student/Teacher recognition by the Chancellor or one of his aides, more people/parents would seriously get involved.Of course, there are much needed upgrades; ie.- brighter lights, more classrooms & a genuine Library for this old school building. We were #5 in our district and there's always room for improvement. We also have many excellent and dedicated teachers and staff (whom deserve recognition, as well). They tirelessly work with a myriad of students from different backgrounds whom need many resources to continue to thrive, strive,& continue working hard to achieve success in their goals of passing to each grade. I pray this K-5th Grade school gets much needed resorces it deserves for enriching these inner-city kids' lives whole-heartedly.
