I am very disappointed with this school. I went here years when I was a child and I thought it was ok, but now that I have my child there I want to transfer. This school is clearly overcrowded and the children are paying the price. My child's teacher is very disorganized, always forgetting to give my child their homework or losing it. There is virtually no communication between me and this teacher. The only time the school reaches out to a parent is to complain or say something negative. They wait till report cards come out to tell you that your child is doing poorly in a certain area, when if you would have known about it earlier you could have worked more closely with your child. For kindergarten they don't have anything fun for these kids. I know schools in the south bronx that offer more recreational/electives than this school. An utter disappointment.

This school is not worth it, if you can try your best and take your child to a surrounding school its quite hard do to zoning but it can be done. The principal is rude and most teachers are there just for a check.

My daughter maya ross loved her teacher 3-317...ms smith and ms racanelli ...THANK YOU SO MUCH she went from 43 percent on ela reading to 78 percent and from 72 percent on math to 92 percent and is fresh and ready to go for 4th grade ....i think ps105 is one of the most underrated schools in our zip code...KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK STAFF AND STUDENTS HAVE A HAPPY SUMMER AND SEP WE GET BACK TO WORK

This school is lacking any leadership from the principal and some of the staff is unmotivated to do any good work. It looks like they are there to collect their checks and nothing else metters... but then the principal is not a person to motivate them...
I must admit that I am very happy with PS 105. I think that the teachers are very motivating and accommodating to the student's individual needs. Extra practice sessions are held to help student pass the assessment exams, they are very informative with about your child's educational needs, improvements, school events, changes, etc. I am VERY disappointed that the school no longer has challenge classes. I think that this sets back students who are more advance that others and makes them less excited about school. My daughter truly enjoys school and looks forward to attending school every day, but she seem a little bored this pass year and was not that motivated. She had an excellent teacher this past year, but when all students have to learn the same thing at the same pace, it s a little difficult. I hope they implement that system in the school again. I think it would bring more to the school.

This school has made vast improvement since the new principal (Mr. Eustace) has taken the reins. We have an excellent group of caring and proactive teachers. Let's help them keep up their good work!

This school is not doing very well, there great teachers on board, but the principal is too busy making the shchool yard into a botanical garden, instead of trying to extend the size of the building or if that wasn't possible then he should of made a play ground the children, like that they can have recess outdoors instead of indoors.

Not happy with everything about this school. Unfortunately due to zoning I had no choice but to put my kids there. The guidance staff is unresponsive at best and the quality of education is lacking. Thank goodness for the suburbs. I can't wait to put this school far behind us.

This is a very nice school but the Lack of enough security is very scary especially when you have 4 & 5 years old not properly watched in a Lunch Room with so many exits that are not secured. This is a very large school but there is only one Security Guard Present all day. With so many entrance and exit you can never tell who can get into the school. This school needs more security and if the parents get together I am sure they can help resolve this problem.

My daughters have both done excellent in this school. They have quality academic programs that challenge both the child and the parent. As parents, we need to do our part and review school activities and help with the studying and homework. I know a lot of parents that do not take the time to do this then blame the school or the teacher. They have great art and music activities. I do agree, not many parents get involved, but believe me, there are some that do and do make a difference. The school has many diverse backgrounds which is good. Overall this school is a great quality school. Teachers such as Mrs. Greenwald, Ms. Berman, Mrs. Lavagata, Mr. Langano, Mrs. Archer, and Ms. Cheana make this one quality school. My daughters were very fortunate to have them. Bernard 'djbennybee' Gascot

I a first year, kindergarten parent and I am very happy with my daughters teacher. I was soooo emotional when she read a book to me yesterday. I did not think her reading level would improve so quickly. It is a wonderaful thing to listen her read. The principal is great and very available for all us parents. Yes there is a lack of parent involvement. But this is partly because of a need for better/faster communication between school & staff. Yes there is a need for more activities for at ALL grade levels.

My daughter started Kindergarden this year. It's end of September, and her class still doesn't have a teacher. The school is also overcrowded; my daughter's classroom is in one of the classroom trailers they built on the school yard. Her lunch is at 10:30 in the morning. Since she eats so early, she's tired and hungry by the time she gets out of school at 2:30pm. One good thing about this school is that there's a lot of diversity.

The school is very diverse. There aren't too many extracurricular activities for the children. The work does not challenge the students.

My child's kindergarten experience was wonderful. Mrs. Greenwald was true to her word as far as accomplishments by the end of school year were concerned. My daughter is now reading 2nd grade books, of course with my assistance at home. Overall, the other teachers and the principal, Mrs Dennison, were a pleasure to deal with, but I would suggest more parent-student-teacher involvement and after school activities for all age groups.

So far my son, Johnathan has done well at this school. I like his teachers and their over-all teaching methods. But my son is doing well because I stay on top of his work and I make it my business to speak with the teachers. The school has good to excellent teachers, but there are to many children with parents who don't get involve. Mrs. Perles and Mrs. Summers are excellent teachers.
