Ps 140 The Eagle School 1

I worked at this school for one year. They are the worst. No effective behavior plan or behavior modification plan in place. Teachers are on their own. Treated like glorified babysitters with students that need real world applications for their behaviors or a different setting completely. No effective curriculum in place. The director comes in conveniently 3 days a week. The principal is a joke. He's old and just biding his time until he leaves. Some of the aides are in relationships irrespective to the workplace. Very few professional people work at this school and the ones that do get NO respect at all. This place is horrible to be an educstional insitution. Run pass this place.

This school definitely needs Great Improvement in getting better programs and Afterschool Activities. The Principal is not doing everything he can to get more parents involved. Mr. Greene is extremely wonderful as the Assistant Principal but I feel he would do better as Principal. Mrs. Burke is also very good but Mr. Canon doesn't allow too many parents opinions' and does the school a very huge disservice. Most of the teachers are excellent but some of them and many of the staff need Courtesy/Professionalism/and Respect Retraining and guidance for the sake of the school and future of our children. PTA is extremely ghetto and seriously inadequate regarding perspectives for all the children and parental involvement and outreach (especially in delegating better times for the monthly meetings and SLT and other meetings). They need to Plug in to more parents who are very resourceful.

Even though my son entered in the middle of the school year for kindergarten the expectations seem very low. My child is not encouraged to perform to the best of his abilities. I do not feel informed as a parent.

My child attended pre-k and his 2 teachers were excellent. They were very patient and caring.
