i use to be a student in p.s.196 and i when i graduated the fifth grade i dident want to leave because of the fun and encouragement i got and experienced in this amazing school. i highly recommend this school for kids with low self confidence and for kids with low academic growth in math and english language arts the teachers here will help your child succeed both mentally and physically and they will help your child in any struggle at home and in school. im in seventh grade now
My daughter is in her 3rd year at this school and she's thriving. I'm a little disappointed that so much empahasis is put on the taking of the standardized test. But I'm happy they allowed my daugther's 3rd grade teacher to move up and teach her class as 4th graders.The do have gym once a week, but I don't see were any offerings in the arts are given and the only extracurricular activities are all tied into test taking. PArent involement seems OK.
