As a teacher myself, I am actually pleased with the way teachers are implementing the Common Core standards to everyday learning. The pros of the school: at the middle school level, reading and writing are separate subjects, computer research is integrated in the learning and this year, science was pushed with the Science Fair at all grades. Some cons: not enough classes for art and physical education, alerts and news are often not done in a timely manner and after-school programs are not as rich or diverse as they could be. As for fundraising, this is expected of most catholic and private schools. As a teacher, no one understands that better. Programs, materials and personnel are not cheap and not always funded through tuition. No other place you attend will be any different. However, this school is moving in a good direction academically and the staff/administration has been open to our family. Overall, I see good things to come.

Not good too overpriced, they focus more on fundraising and activities rather than education of the kids.

Sacred Heart School is NOT what it used to be!!!! They are quick to suspend your child due to their lack of organization and control. The after school program is a complete joke, they take your money and offer no extra curricular activities for students. Principal leadership is horrible. The head of administration was no help either. If I can't turn to ppl of God who represent the Church and school, who else was I supposed to turn to? My son is now in a better catholic school. There are 3 teachers to the 20 students in his class and I have received no complaints about my child behaving like a child. The new school is a lot more organized, responsible and professional in dealing with my issues and concerns and the homework is a lot more rigorous. In closing, I'm so glad that I removed my son from Sacred Heart School.

My name is Yisury Antonio and I am also a graduate student from Sacred Heart school. Sacred Heart was like a second family for me because it was always there when I needed something and gave me an opportunity to stretch my education further more. I am glad to say that this school taught me everything from a child to a young lady who is now about to graduate high school. Thank you Sacred Heart and all the teachers/principals who were their for me.

I have been teaching here for approxiametly 5 years, and I have to say how proud I am of our students. Although we are a large school, we are like a big family. Everyone knows eachother, and all teacher love to see how well our student (current & alumni) have grown. We have the Lord in our hearts always, and teach with our hearts . We have a safe environment, and students are instructed with values in addition to the curriculm. Even our teachers have enrolled their own children in our school.

I am a recent graduate of Sacred Heart (Class of 2005).I truly loved SHS. I attended it from grades 2 through 8 and graduated at the top of my class. I was unable to do these things without the preservance of myself and my dedicated teachers. Yes, there are some teachers that seem to not care but I was lucky. Sacred Heart is a very disciplined school and I feel that any student that comes here will love it as much as I had. Sacred Heart truly cares for its students. For example, SHS is now paying my tuition for my catholic high school through a partial scholarship given to me when I graduated. Compared to the rest of the catholic middle schools in the area, Sacred Heart School is at the top!

If you want a school where the principal is involved, knows every child academic perfomance and each parent, this is it. However, like every school, there are some teachers that are not good. Not enough homework, exams, etc. Only the minimum require by the principal. Again, this varies teacher by teacher.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
