I am graduating St. Johns this year and i have to say i will miss everyone. The teachers are wonderful and the new principal is wonderful. Even thought i loved the old principal,i have come to accept and like the new principal. I 100% recommend this school to anyone.
I GRADUATED IN 1940. I HAVE MANY MEMORIES OF ST. JOHNS. ESPECIALLY MOTHER CLAUDINE. SHE HAD A BIG INFLUENCE ON MY LIFE. I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER HER.
I myself went to St. John's many years ago and now my two children go there. The teachers are great and always willing to go that extra distance to help a child understand. Mr. Vitiello was amazing, he will truly be missed. I only hope that the school continues their high standards once Mr. Vitiello is gone.
The principal Mr. Vitiello is what made this school for 8 years. I felt safe knowing that my child attended this school. The neighborhood and community is safe and good. I never met a great principal as he was to the school. He is very understanding and has compassion for his work. My family and I will miss him very much and whishes him all the best with his new career.
At St. John's School students excel academically, however their after care program needs improvements. They should start by hiring a new program director.
I went to St. John's 60 years ago. Sounds pretty much the same now as then: dedicated teachers, strict discipline, strong academics, not much "extracurricular activities" unless you count the St. Patrick's Day Annual Play which was spectacular, and the basketball teams which were, too. Over the years, I have met scores of graduates who are as grateful as i for the education we received. So, I wouldn't worry too much about the frills. We didn't need them. Your kids probably don't either...they already have the kind ofparents we had--parents who are willing to sacrifice to guarantee a solid chance in the world for their children.
When i take my grandson to St. John's it feels like i'm leaving him with family, cause in St Johns they treat him with such love and gives him all the attention he needs, my grandson is in Pre-K, but i've had my kids in St. Johns for many yrs and i love it, the principal is super and the office staff are incredible, and the teachers are the best, they all care and that's what matters the most. Thumbs up!!!
My son attended St. John's since pre-k and up until first grade I believe it was great. From 2nd to 4th, I though the teachers lacked involvement with the kids, especially fourth grade. The teacher seemed to just do the job she had been doing for the past years as a routine. Although the Principal is strict and likes discipline, I believe the teachers needed some too. They need to do what they preach. The school is great academically and for that I praise them, but the school needs more extra curricular activities to expand the kids minds. Clubs, sports, etc.
My son went to St. John's for 9 yrs, since Kindergarten and i recommend this school to everyone, he graduated 2 yrs ago and now i have my grandson in Pre-K, excellent Principal and wonderful teachers, very focus on discipline and education. Love this school!!
St.Johns is a great school! The teachers and principal are great leaders and truly care about the children. The discipline given at school is great and help give the children structure in thier lives.I am very grateful that my child has great people in her life to guide her while in school.
