I have had three children in the school, and think that it is a terrific place. The teachers are excellent (they must hold a master's degree) and the principal works hard to make sure every child feels welcome and accomplished. The writing program is outstanding, and the math is very challenging. Huge emphasis on reading and social studies. Competitive with area's finest private schools. Lots of opportunity for community service and volunteerism.
Academically this school may be superior but socially it is a horrible place to grow up. Where kids are teased about the brand of their clothing and teachers brag about plastic surgery. Twisted - it is sad because there is so much more to life but test scores attract parents trying to do the right thing.
