My school has a staff of hardworking professionals dedicated to teaching and helping kids. The teachers here go above and beyond to help students in many ways. The parent coordinator is an excellent resource for the community. The principal is forward thinking and intent on improving the quality of education for children in this community. Our students are full of intellect, creativity, and personality. This school is definitely a diamond in the rough.

This school is ok. It has its challenges like any other school. School is for learning and they have good teachers here who really try hard to give kids the opportunity to learn. The students have to welcome that opportunity in order for learning to take place. That is the problem with most schools. The student is not taught to do so, so the school has to teach them how to respect their own education. so it takes away from learning. I really feel that this school is doing the best they can with what they have. Gold is Gold. Steel is steel and can never be Gold. So lets send this school more gold to work with so they can do their job and develop learning student. I'm trying with my son who attends this school. He is a piece of steel that they are treating like Gold and I want to thank them. Parents please get involved they can do it alone.

I think this school has a lot of work to do when it comes to dealing with there children .It may also seem a bitt on the gettho side. students seems to think that them and teachers, principal and audults are on the same level. I feel they need to teach these kids more understanding of, that school is for learning. I would suggest i find out facts about this school before regestiring your child, unless its the only option. my sister 6th grader, attends she is very bright loves math and science which i can say they have helped her improvements. I want her to have a wonderful, bully free enviorment experience, supervision is also lackying. Why should i have to worry about my sister if this is a school of excellents. She will be attending a more rated and supervised school by next fall. In the mean while i will surly attend any parent activities and events.

Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, the New York State Department of Instruction implemented new assessments designed to be aligned with the Common Core State Standards. The new standards for proficiency in these subjects are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change. See this letter from New York's Commissioner of Education for more information on these changes.

In 2013-2014 New York used the New York State Assessments to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English language arts and math, and in grades 4 and 8 in Science. At present 2013-14 results are available only for English language arts and math. The tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New York. The goal is for 90% of students to meet or exceed grade-level standards on the tests.
