My son is a 4th grader here and he loves this school. I am a very satisfied parent. The principal is wonderful. And the discipline is good.

PS 264 is not up to par in helping kids with special needs. Principal and teachers need eduction in dealing with the subject rather than intolerance and indifference. These kids are trying to fit into society and need educated teachers in helping them achieve the best they can be.

PS264 started as a very promising school. This year has been the most disappointing year to date. The hiring decisions for this academic year were disasterous for both teachers and one of the new administrators. This school does not believe in the importance of recess, recreation or free time for the kids. Any stepping out of line or not hearing when called to attention is dealt with swiftly. The Administrators likes lunch time detention, where children sit and eat silently or they sit on the concrete in the yard watching other children play. We will be switching schools for the 2014-2015 academic year. I am not sure how academic rigor can be met in a school with teachers just out of school during a testing year.
