I attended FDR from 1999-2003. Lucky for me, I was able to stick with taking honors and AP classes for the most part, where the class sizes were smaller and there was more individual attention given to students. Otherwise, in the non-honors/AP courses, the curriculum was way too slow, class size too big, and there were too many "problem kids" who were not interested in learning. There was quite a few pregnant people or parents in my gym class! My graduating class had only 400 people - what happened to the other few hundred??! Didn't graduate in 4yrs. Or only went to Kingsborough. I'm just happy I got out of there and actually went to a good college. Currently working on my PhD. No thanks to FDR, I worked hard not have to go into the "regular" classes. I call it the school of hard knocks. I'd never send my kids there.
Great school. safe. Kids love it. Freshman academy is great. It helps kids get used to the school, and make friends. Impressed.
Great High School. Teachers were excellent. They were very involved with each student. Offered many different extra curricular activites and clubs which helped to express myself and learn to work with others. Prepared me for the next step in my acedemics, which was college. They have a great campus, very clean and well maintained.
this school in my opion is very unsafe.. thier are too many students and a lot of gang related troubles... my son has gotten bullied countless times... this school used to be good when i went thier during the 90s but boy has it changed
this is an excellent school I hope that it continues in its effort to educate children from diverse cultures.
one of the best school around, very diverse, many clubs, teams and so on. people from all over the world, nice and friendly environment.
I love my school. The teachers are amazing. They really do care about the students. Mrs.Maoine, our principle, is awesome. And the students, are all friendly. Well, at least most are. No one, no school's perfect, but F.D.R. is pretty darn school, despite the rumors that go around saying how horrible it is, and how people get shot, etc. It's all made up. I myself haven't seen anything like that the two years I've spent in F.D.R. so far.
i love my school. we are all friendly and enjoy eachothers company. there are no fights and teachers are more down to earth.
iam a freshman in f.d.r high school.i got nervous there but one of the police told me to clam down and it was working. the teachers are nice even student are nice i didn't see anybody bully any freshman even me i didn't got bullied there
I'm a freshman in this school and have only been going there for 3 days but I really like it! When I told people that I'm going to FDR they were like 'Are you crazy! Thats the worst school!' But they were wrong, I feel very safe, it has to be one of the safest schools in Brooklyn.
