I am so tired of people always writing negative comments about the school when they are not there for the day to day work. Just because they say money is missing again because of the PTA doesnt mean the school is bad. Take it up with the PTA, the school was not responsible for that. The students and teachers work really hard on a daily basis to make our school work and remain on top. Please dont let a few situations that are out of the schools control be the only thing you remember. The school also offers many positive things for the school.

A high staff turnover and poor staff morale. Students for the most part are sweet kids who want to do well. Clean building shared with a charter school which can be disruptive. There are many interruptions and inconsistent, chaotic, poorly planned, and unsupported programs. Inconsistent leadership. Most teachers are caring and try to do well within their classroom.

The staff at P.S.23 are one of the most dedicated people you could ever met. Each and everyone of the staff members take their job very seriously and work very hard for the education and well being of their students. The students are their first priority . Yes, they have had some ups and downs, put when the chips are down the staff work even harder to overcome any obstacles that may hinder the quality of education the students may be faced with. The staff at P.S.23 acts like a family and like any family, they stick together to make it work to help the students, parents and their community. Give the school the opportunity to grow and learn. They are to me an excellent school. They are fair, just and will not accept anything less than high expectations from students, parents and their staff.

I am for the most part frightened for the safety of my 7 and 8 year olds. I as a parent complete my part and assist my children with home study but three out of five nights in the week one of my children does not recieve homewaork. I think the intrest in the teachers for teaching is lacking and there are alot of children that should be evaluated and determine if they need further assistance because the teachers there spend more time diciplining students than teaching them which leaves my children on the short end part of the stick because the education that they are coming to learn they can not recieve.
