This year marks my last at PS 99. I have put two children through the Sigma Program and I am so pleased with both their overrall challenging academic educations. PS 99 is a place where parents, principal, teachers, pta and staff work together as a team. You feel extrremely welcomed when you come to 99. I am grateful for all of the wonderful people who work and volunteer at 99. You might find other great elementary schools and its the people that make the school great. 99 has such wonderful people working there. Teachers really care about their students. 99 has a safe and secure enviornment. Basically it ranks really high as far as elementary schools go.
PS99 is a great and outstanding school I wouldn't send my kids anywhwere else.
After having 2 children graduate from PS 99 and a third still attending, I continue to be greatful for the involvement from Mrs. Blyberg and Mrs. Diamond in the student's affairs. The assistant principal's are as omnipresent as the teachers and seem to know each one of the kids whose care they are charged with personally. In addition, after having experienced over 12 concecutive years with the teachers in the school, I have yet to meet one that I am dissapointed with.
The quality of education my daughter has received thus far has been top notch! The SIGMA program at P.S. 99 far exceeds my expectations. The quality of a teacher's performance is not a popularity contest, nor is it based on his/hers bedside manner, although in a student/teacher relationship, the desire is to have the best well-rounded experience possible. In short, my daughter is where she is today because of the emphasis on learning and scholastic achievements above and beyond the norm, which she has recieved at P.S. 99.
I think this is an excellent school. The Sigma program is very successful and the teachers could not be better. The teachers really care for the kids and the schoolwork is challenging. My son did great on the state tests and got a very good score in the talent test he took at Mark Twain. This was all thanks to his teacher's hard work. I am not sure waht could have happend to the parent that had a negative review, but my experience with the Sigma program and the teachers at P.S.99 has been very positive.
My daughter is in the 3rd grade Sigma. We were very happy with 1st and 2nd grade, but this year we can t wait when it will be over. Teacher has questionable methods of teaching, more appropriate for boot camp, and not Sigma program.
This school is the worst school you can think of. The food i horrible, it stinks, and the teachers have no self control! not recomended!!!
My daughter is in the Sigma Program at P.S. 99. The academics as well as the extra-curriculum activities are outstanding; the kids are receiving a world class education. the staff is dedicated to the well being of the kids. Hats off to the principal Mr. Pirraglia!
My daughter goes to 5th grade. her teacher Mrs. Glatman is one of the gretest teachers she ever had. she is so caring. Mrs Glatman inspired my daughter a great deal to improve her overall standards.
I think this school offers a well rounded academic program for students with fine teachers. There are many extracurricular activities including drama, chorus, music and art. TYhe level of parent activity is high, with a great PTA team that offers bake sales, holiday boutiques and an end of the year carnival for the students in june.
