When you look at a school you must look at the chosen curriculum. PS 106K now has two classrooms which are fully equipped with the incredible Sing, Spell, Read & Write program.They have just hired an expert in this program to train and use the program in class. This school has a great principal who is willing to use the best and get the best results! This school is doing amazing things for its kids
I have worked at this school for over 7 years. It is a special place where the students love to be. There is a student created school newspaper, a podcast club, a theater program (last year they performed Macbeth), a variety of after school activities, a miilion dollar library built by the Robin Hood foundation, etc. Our school is proud to have a caring, hard working staff, most of which grew up in the neighborhood. The majority of our students are Spanish speaking. They work hard every day in an effort to make their families proud and achieve their dreams. They may be a bit behind on standardized tests, but we are continually amazed by their energy and ideas. It's infectious. They love our school. So do I.
