When our teacher said in September that every kid in her gifted K class would know how to read by February, I didn t believe her. To my surprise, my daughter is reading level H books now! In spite of challenging budget year, PS-195 is finding ways to offer chess, yoga, music and computer classes to all children even in K! A new afterschool program is now available in the school building. My kid loves her school, her teacher and her class!

Both of my children have attended P.S.195, and the change that I had noticed is not for the better. The amazing teachers that made this school what it was, are leaving, and the ones taking their place, definitely do not measure up. My older child is in honors in all classes, while my other child's level of education, in an eagle class, does not compare. Don't get me wrong, it is still a good school, but the teachers are what makes the biggest difference!

My son is attending PS 195 Kindergarten. Was there in Pre-K as well. We are lucky with the teacher this year, but the school has some issues with informing parentrs about the tests the kids are going to take, etc. Overall the school is great, I do not see any other choice living nearby.

Our daughter attends P.S.195. This is her 4th year in school. She loves her teachers, the school staff, the classes, everything. Each new school year she says how much she misses her previous teachers and how great everyone is. The standards and expectations of P.S.195 are high but the students do not seem to have a problem meeting them. The school really is a second home to students. Next year our younger daughter is starting Pre-K at P.S.195 and we feel confident that she will enjoy and fall in love with the school, teachers, and everything it has to offer.

I have 2 children in PS 195. This school is known for a good reputation but the teacher is the one that makes all the difference. And I have to say that my child in kindergarden program is totally terrified of her teacher. The whole year has been a huge disappointment. I believe children are graded unfairly and not according to their efforts and knowledge but according to some other rules. I can't wait for this year to end and get over this experience.

My son finished kindergarten-excellent program in the regular class, although there was a gifted-talented program as well. He is reading fluently, and not just one syllable plain words, but books for kids in 2nd, 3rd grade. Great art program, safety and discipline are top notch.
