My son who is now 20 graduated from PS 208 many years ago and they did an excellent job with him. My daughter who is 7 is now a student at PS 208. Her Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Pointdujour was absolutely fabulous. She provided numerous opportunities for every child to succeed and shine. Good job Ms. P. Love you!..Mr. Perriera was her first grade teacher and he did not disappoint. In fact, I was nervous about the level of nurturing a male teacher will be able to provide to such a young girl, but that nervousness went out the window immediately. Mr. P is warm and friendly. He also provided each child with opportunities to be his or her best. Mr. P challenged the students in every way. He believes in academic rigor. My daughter excelled under his guidance and care. I cannot say enough about him. Love you to pieces!
I love this school. The principal and her staff are the most caring individuals. Both my children have attended this school, and i have nothing but compliments.More schools need to duplicate what Ms. Parris continually achieves!
PS 208 is a very great school. Our Prinicpal is a people person, She is easy to geta long with and looks out for the best interest of all ther children. the teachers communicate well with both parents and students. My son had been a student at PS208 for the past 3 years.
I recently enrolled my son into the 2nd grade last fall. He is doing great. This school keeps the parents informed. They strive to educate each child by offering a lot of one on one teaching. They also provide a clean and safe enviroment for my son. He was always a smart kid but this school has done wonders for his confidence in his abilities. He is really happy at pS 208. They tend to have workshops for parents but not during hours where working parents as myself can attend. But other than that I fully support this school and all of the hardwork and reaserch I'm happy with this school for my son.
this school is really great they have programs to help kids who need extra help. They might not have a lot of money to spend on supplies but they try the hardest that they can. they have fund raisers, the funds that they raise go to supplies for the students.the school is also involved in charities. the school supports parent involvement 100 percent they have a PTA who host meetings the only problem is that parents don't get involved. the school doesn't have a sports team but they do have extra curricular activities
This school needs a lot of improvement. There's no academic intervention programs to help students that need extra help after school. The school does not have any sports teams. It's okay, it was once a really great school, maybe with the lack of grants it has lost it's high rankings. Unfortunately it's the kids that suffer because of the lack of fundings. Some schools have a strong focus on reading or math. I don't know which subject P.S. 208's focuses on because it has never been mentioned in any of there newsletters home. I think the parents need to interact with the principal because she is amazing. She does want your child to be successful. However I still believe there's alot of room for improvement and growth.
