This is an EXCELLENT School. A hidden Gem. The Staff is welcoming and everyone knows your name and your child. A small school with tons of resources. A dedicated staff committed to the kids. The principal is AMAZING! and dedicated to her students and Staff. As soon as you walk in you feel the welcome from everyone. My son has drastically improved in all area.
P.S. 287 has a bright future, based on the mission, goals and objective that all are focused on. Students are active participants in the educational process with the guidnace of family, friends, educators, and staff of P.S. 287. I am greatful for the energy, support, and focus of the staff. I am proud of the consisitent efforts of the educators. The persistent desire of the students and the insistent proactive contributions of the PTA board. P.S. 287 is a striving educational force that is educating and liberating the students through education. P.S. 287 MOTTO: Educating Leaders of Tomorrow is flourishing throughout every individual that has an encounter with a member of the P.S. 287 family. Thank You to all the active participants that contributes to the potential of P.S. 287.
P.S. 287 is a great school. My son came from another school in the neighborhood, and when he started with 287 his grades were horrible and so was his behavior. He didn't trust his teachers. This school has helped my son do a complete 360 turn around. His grades are great, his attitude is civil and he now knows how to address his peers with respect and dignity. Mrs. Rawlins is great, she cares about her kids.
My child has attended P.S.287 since they were 5 years old. P.S.287 is a school where the children come first. Each child is encouraged to do their personal best without being labeled as the smart or dumb kids. The teachers are highly skilled and work hard to bring out the best in each child. I am very pleased with the fat that the class sizes are small. Students get a lot of attention. The great scores show that this a good school. I always feel welcome, and my son loves P.S.287. The librarian Mr. Clinton works with the parent Coodinator to have classes for parents in the new Robin hood Libray. Most people don't really know about this school, but I am glad that I decide to tranfer my child in.
