I was told my son could not attend this school because he does not speak spanish, I was told the school is taught one week in spanish and one week in english. I thought I lived in the United States of America a Mainly English speaking country.

PS.89 is a family like school, I am a parent and also an educator. From what I have see in this school I have come to the conclusion that my child is at the right school. She is learning and she is love to go to school this shows that she feels confortable at the school.

I have two children who attend P.S. 89. Overall it is a decent school, like many schools there are always issues that we need to tend to. P.S. 89 is overall a good school, however it does not teach the children how to intermingle with one another it is one sided.

My daughter finally completed her first year of Kindergarten at The Cypress Hills Community School. For the most part it was a positive experience for her, but as a parent it was somewhat of a struggle. Sometimes it felt as if there was no voice to be heard. Our school's philosophy of parentlal involvement needs more supportive implementation and involvement from the newly re-structured New York City Department of Education. It almost feels as if we as the parents are not entitled to be heard. I hope this is not the reality because it would be a hard one to accept.
