The teachers are top notch and the children are prepared to become future leaders. The school has many programs to offer including a state of the art computer technology lab.
It has been around forever and is an integral part of the neighborhood. It is known for its superior education and to instill traditional values and a strong work ethic as well as teaching children about their religion.
My child went to elementary school at OLPH and had the time of her life. There was such a great support system there and the faculty was absolutely amazing. Whenever my daughter had academic problems her teachers were always there to help! They also constantly had fun events for the children going on, which of course my daughter enjoyed. The atmosphere is extremely safe and my daughter never came home feeling otherwise. It truly is a great school.
I have taught at OLPH School for 25 years. Our three children received their elementary education there and all three are now successful independent adults. The school continues to provide a wonderful academic foundation to all students enrolled there. We are a Catholic School that welcomes Catholic and Non-Catholic students.
This is a good school, and it is also a safe place for children. The teachers are passionate about teaching, and care for the children! Please give us a chance!!!!!!!
I graduated from OLPH School last year, and it is an excellent school. I have only went there for three years, and it was the most amazing years of my life. I do not live in Brooklyn anymore, but I will truly remember this school for all it did to my life. Thank you to all the teachers that helped me throughout the years. As a Catholic, I think it's very nice of the school to welcome both Catholics and Non-Catholics. OLPH Elementary School is truly a school to remember!
My daughter graduated from this school, and she has been getting really good grades in high school. The teachers there are very helpful, I must say. This school had really good faculty, and they had lots of fun events. My daughter never came home sad, and she was glad she went to this school.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Elementary School, is a great school for are future generation of children to recieve there education. I graduated from OLPH in 2005 and i have great memories with all my classmates and my wonderfull teachers. OLPH has done so much for me throught my childhood now that I am a freshman in college I feel without OLPH I would have never gotten where I am today.
OLPH is a great school. I am very glad I attended this school. Excellent learning environment for children. Excellent teachers.
Quality education with great teacher to student ratio. Teachers here take a serious personal interest in their students, paying close attention to the emotional and intellectual needs of each individual. The teachers here teach because it's what they love to do not bc the schedule is convenient.
O.L.P.H. has given my child a great beginning. The first learning experiences are in keeping with what little children should be doing. Learning through songs, pictures, and creative experiences. My child made the transition from home to school in a way that was not scary and was ready for school the following year.
I was thrilled to hear that O.L.P.H. will remain open. My children have been fortunate to attend this school. The teachers have helped guide me in my sons' education and helped me when they struggled.
The Principal is a very loving and caring person. She comes out and greets the parents and they were her own family members. Some of the older grade teachers lack discipline. Some teachers are hyprocritical and when they fail a child they wear it as a badge of honor. The school lacks teachers that are dedicated enough to want to teach a child and not just interested in finishing a curriculum.
I am a parent and an Alumi of OLPH. OLPH is a wonderful school. The review regarding the library is so untrue. They have a wonderful library and a great library teacher. Parents do not cover classes during lunch. Parents supervise the lunch period in the caferteria. If the parent that commented on the supervision during lunch is not happy with it then maybe that parent should supervise. This past January OLPH was on the list of schools to be closed, the faculty, parents, alumi, and the community got together and made pledges and proposed to Bishop DiMarzio reasons to keep OLPH open and to continue to educate children for years to come. I am happy to announce that OLPH will continue to educate children for year to come.
OLPH is a great school. It has a wonderful computer lab, library. gym and auditorium. The faculty is top rate. The education provided is top notch and the children are instilled with morals and values. It is a gem of a school.
i went to olph for ten years and left with a full scholarship to a private college prep highschool. im now a college bound senior who has been offered scholarships to several renowned colleges including fordham, binghampton, columbia and seton hall. i still have siblings who attend olph and they're doing fine. olph provides one with a well rounded education, and those who choose to commit as i did do succeed.
School does not have a library. They allow other students and parents to cover classes during lunch. No real supervision during lunch/recess. Not at all happy with the school.
School is not interested in teaching and learning. They do not teach to the needs of the individual students. Teachers are more concerned with covering the curriculum rather than ensuring that students are understanding and learning.
