Both of my children attended Get Set on Ave D from 2 years old to 5 years old. Ave D is the has the best teachers! Very caring and nurturing environment. Both of my children took the Gifted and Talented test and passed! My children were fluently reading in there PK program. I highly recommend Get Set on Ave D as an excellent foundation for any child.

It has been my experience that Get Set is more suitable as a Daycare geared toward watching kids while parents are at work. There academic program could use some improvement. However, the children that attend there are well taken care of.

My child attends the Get Set on Courtelyou Rd. Some of the staff are friendly & helpful but a majority of them are rude& do not want to do anything they don't HAVE to. My child came into the school at 4 years old ahead of her class academically. Instead of embracing this, she was forced to regress to the level of her classmates & told she was doing her work incorrectly by writing on 1 line verses writing on 2, as most of her classmates were accustomed to. I also feel this school is extremely money driven. They charge 3x as much for school trips then other schools & require you to pay almost $200, in addition to the weekly tuition, for 'senior dues' when your child is about to graduate. Overall, I think it is a good place if you are seeking a sitter instead of a SCHOOL.

There are piano lessons available, once a week. There are no sports, art or a park for the kids to play in. There is no cafeteria, they eat in their class. One week they have computer class and the other week they don't. Some things are not done consistantly. There is great discipline but week safety because no one checks identification when kids are being picked up. They are not able to handle children or provide resources for help with children with special needs. The parent involvement I would say is minimal as their is no Parent Teacher association.

My son was a student at Get Set Kindergarten located on Avenue D, Brooklyn, NY. He was there from the age of 2 until he was 5 years of age. I give this school great reviews for the care and education they gave to him. To this day he is an outstanding student and I thank Get Set for helping set him on the right path.
